Idea stolen from a gastro pub in Kingston upon Thames.

Qual-egg index is very dodgy.

My 30th birthday on the yacht was iffy, great BBQ party with paella and quail eggs for 30 people, folks still hugged me and I ended up sleeping with my ex's sister.

Much disorder from some simple eggs.

I'm planning on making some mid week for pack ups. Though I've only simple pork sausage meat. I'm a single Mother of three on the Cambs/Beds border for heavens sake!

Future plans involve much of the same with soft centred Duck Eggs.

Serves me right for skim reading. I initially missed that little word towards the end of your sentence. ex...

It was d_m_n and I who discovered said quail egg Mini Scotch Eggs at the gastro pub in Kingston. The pub came third in the National Scotch Egg Championship that year.

Oh, yeah.

It wasn't just you...! Those eggs would have a lot to answer for indeed.

I showed my 13 year old lad the Quail Eggs and said we may have them boiled before dinner. He asked "Is that the type of egg I like?"

"Quail?" I reply.

"No. Boiled" he says somewhat Steven Gerrard-esque.

Please, Oh dear lord, show him how to poach.

Any young lad who can poach an egg onto a sweetcorn cobb will be shagged to death, for ever.

Talking of food, daughter has just phoned. It's taken her a mere twenty minutes to get from pre-immigration at Gatwick North through to sitting on the train on the way back here.
I'd better get dinner on.

The naysayers who love to foresee only doom for new threads are likely to be right 98 times out of a 100, but it's a cheap way of being right. If you think of the second post on here you won't be too bothered by them.
I remember seeing that,sometime later.

It was IBTL wasn't it....LOL

Went round to Dad's for dinner.

He showed me a photo he'd found or had searched for.

From 1955 of his wedding day,a picture I don't recall ever seeing before.

It had both sets of Grand parents,I never met his side as they died before my birth.

I didn't ask but of the 10 people in the pic,I believe only 2 or 3 are still with us.

My mother included in the deceased.

That's it. "Ooh, a new thread, it's almost bound to fail, I'll get a cheap laugh."

It's the numbers game.

There was a documentary years ago about the lack of HM Government backing for British inventions. They interviewed a retired senior Civil Servant who had been in charge of a body tasked with providing backing for likely looking inventions. He said, in a really rather smug way, that all inventions were assessed and rejected. When asked how this could be allowed to happen, he replied that as only about 1% of the inventions would ever amount to anything, if he failed all of them, his failure rate would be 1% which was an unfeasibly good result for a Government Department.

Sobering, iva.

Thanks for sharing that. That'll stick with you for a while if I'm any judge.

For as long as I can remember I have enjoyed making people laugh. Sometimes I try too hard and it's too complicated to be funny and sometimes it's plain ordinary not funny. You have to try. But the best feeling is when I get an unexpected laugh. As she rang up my order the girl behind the counter in Argos asked, "How has your day been?" I had a quick think and said, "Productive." And she thought it was hilarious. I guess the other three hundred people she asked today just said, "Fine, thanks. You?"

Good day today. Loads done: garden, cars, house, made breakfast, lunch and dinner, bought grandson's Fireman Sam Fire Station (at Argos - see above) and made a rake of buttermilk scones. Have I sung the praises of Mary Berry yet today? The woman's a genius.

But, y'know, Yin and Yang. I had a good day but Chunky blew up the Celica. Gutting.

Did we ever establish what the collective noun is for TTers?

Is it an Ambush?

An Escargatoire?
