Talking to a couple of my friends at the pub on Saturday and I was horrified to hear that they are working right up until Xmas Eve and then back in 29-31DEC and then again on 02JAN! I'm in this morning for a meeting and then tomorrow as we have our annual piss up but that's it until 05Jan for me. It seems pointless to me to get people to come in over the festive period unless they work in an operational role or in retail/leisure.

Merry Christmas smile

Strictly speaking I have no holiday, but I'll be 'working' from home. Phone on, emails checked occasionally.

Well, it is the end of the sales year!

I'm working Monday to Sunday this week, 0600-1800 on Christmas and Boxing day, both through choice as I'm not a big Christmas fan. Doesn't bother me in the slightest, feet up and Youtube on for the day answering the odd phone call sounds a damn sight more fun than sitting with family trying not to be a miserable git all day!!

If I can be bothered, I'm in until Wednesday this week, then Monday until Wednesday next week. How much time will be spent behind the desk, versus in the pub / restaurants remains to be seen.

The 3-days between x-mas and new year are the only time I ever actually get anything done! I'm the only one in the office and it's great!

Working Xmas Eve night shift and Xmas day night shift.

Therefore, sleeping most of Xmas day I would think.

Pretty depressing Xmas really as I would have liked to see my 5 yr old open his pressies. irked

I suppose it depends on what area of work you do, I work for a large insurer and my particular department can be busy this time of year.
We're only closed Christmas day, boxing day and New years day, rest of the year it's business as usual.

However apart from today also I'm off for most of christmas and have been last week too.

Sorry, I should have expanded - one works in IT for a construction company and the other is a project manager for a construction company, the industry that traditionally shuts down for 2 weeks over Christmas!

Techie sidekick to a real sales person here. hehe

I'm supposed to be off, but we are some distance off our target with enough pipe to do the number. So I guess I kiss goodbye to my holiday when/ if she calls! smile

I finished friday and I'll be back on the 5th.

They close the office between xmas and NY so we have to take holiday (I tried not taking it as I am home based but it's compulsory) as everyone else is off and I work in the pre-sale side of sales there would have been no work anyway. We got given 2 extra half days on Christmas eve and NY eve.

I've sent the kids to holiday club this morning so I can "get prepared" for Christmas and spent the morning in front of the TV as I'm already ready. I think I'll play some games this afternoon or go to the pub.

Nice.
