Always a busy time for me - with the pressing 31 January Self Assessment deadline. I work right through the Christmas and New Year period with just Christmas Day taken off. There may be other days where I might not work for a few hours depending on social engagements etc.

I take a nice break in February.

Working right through, only off on Xmas day and boxing day. I'm not too bothered though as the alternative is festive telly and the in-laws visiting.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO - somebody probably left "Finding Nemo" running on the office TV - and it proved too traumatic for the fish.

To a tropical fish, "Finding Nemo" is a video nasty.

I'm in my office, alone (6 others off) just watched an internal change management DVD from 2007 as was that bored & there is a phone locked in a drawer with a dying battery that is slowly driving me insane - All in all feeling a bit Alan Partridge tbh!

I did Christmas eve, packed in at 14:00. Back to work tomorrow morning, but only tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday in this week. I'm not one of these people who absolutely must be off over Christmas, I had two weeks off earlier this month as the annual "rush to get all the work done before the office becomes a ghost town" period was in full swing.

Closed Christmas day boxing day and new years day. Working every other day but hey that's retail. I'm thankful for my house, cars and lifestyle that it brings so can put up with a bit of work while everyone else is off!

Been in the office all day on my own. Going mad. Considering cutting things. Probably myself.

Finished early on Christmas Eve, was back in on Saturday (thanks to the local county council), I'm back in tomorrow for 3 days then it's my long weekend off, so Fri/Sat/Sun.

Son works at the same place, he too was in Saturday, is off tomorrow, but he's working on the 2nd.

Hubby meanwhile finished lunchtime Christmas Eve, may be in this Wednesday, but failing that it's back to normal for him on Monday.

My ahole American boss told me to resign or be fired on 10th December. So I'm on a month's gardening leave. Kids are loving having me around, and it's great not to be checking email the whole time.

Shocking time to try and find a new job though (got interviews lined up in January already though smile )

I spent this morning in a meeting with a client who had forgotten that it was a bank holiday today when he booked the meeting.

Offshore just now, due home on the 18th of Jan. It just feels normal unless you need to do something that involves people onshore that you can't get hold of.

Ditto. Except I'm in the office offshore. And we had Xmas day off...to sit about bored, watching telly, drinking coffee and eating choccies before the onslaught of our huge festive feed at 12.30pm!

Home on the 30th tho wink

Interesting that this thread has popped up again, this year I was working 25th/26th/27th, but thanks to my employer embracing modern technology I was able to work from home.
Which was awesome!

You're boss sounds like a real dick. Good luck with the interviews.

I work for a property management company and we were open Christmas Eve but only half a day so the girls that live in the town our office is in went in, I'm back at work tomorrow & Wednesday 10am - 4pm, it's also open half a day New Years Eve but again the girls are in for that & then it's all back to normal on Monday 4th January with meetings galore from the word go frown

Oh and before I left on 23rd, we were made to give our personal mobile numbers so we could be 100% contactable and told to take our work phones home with us too

The OH was off completely from Christmas Eve until Monday 4th. Ugh.

I'm in. Mainly as cover as part of a Skeleton team.

Unfortunately the Marine and Oil & Gas sectors don't stop for Christmas/New Year so neither do we really! (When I say stop, we are a contractor and people damage ships at the worst time!)

Just me in the office, actually enjoying it. TMS on, not stiflingly hot and will probably end up doing a day and a half worth of work despite perusing here and on Twitter as well. I would only be sat at home watching TV, so will save my holiday for when my friends are around to do something fun.
