Anyone have a 'glad when it's all over' festive attitude?
Discussion
I suffer with social and generalised anxiety. Work people that start hanging tinsel from November and planning festivities this time of year leave me cold. I appear to others as a grinch but inside im pretty much like a coiled spring right up until the day when I am surrounded by family and loved ones. That is what xmas is about for me. The work parties and associated bullst Im happy to leave behind.

Yep, me as well. Another oe that will be glad when it's over and done with. I've made more effort this year than last - actually bought a bottle of Baileys and a tub of Celebration chocs. Oh yeah, and bought a Turkey roast thing and some spuds that the dogs and I will enjoy.
Bah Humbug!

Nothing to do with commercialisation or even family overload. I've just stopped enjoying it for personal reasons, in fact it's more than that. I actually get upset that things are no longer pleasurable and I'm annoyed about that being taken away from me as I used to be very good at it all.
So I don't do it any more and am glad when the outside pressure of being told to be festive is over for another twelve months. I won't be seeing anyone on the day apart, perhaps, later on in the evening when the chap behind the bar serves me a beer.

I'm with Impasse here. Had a st couple of years (mental) health wise and currently going through a divorce. I'm "lucky" in that I'm working Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's day. Frankly I'm dreading the whole lot of it and just wish it was over. Got rid of all the booze as otherwise, I'd end up at home alone on Christmas day night, stfaced and crying on the dog. If I wasn't working I know I'd stay in bed for days on end and only get up to let the dog out. So I don't do it any more and am glad when the outside pressure of being told to be festive is over for another twelve months. You lot of miserable gits, I love Christmas, the more the merrier its a great family time, I don't give a st about the commercial aspects, rarely even turn the box on, stagger from one meal and drink to the next, sad when it's over.......
This sort of st attitude is what annoys me. "YOU MUST ENJOY IT BECAUSE I SAY SO AND MY LIFE IS GREAT!"bks.
