No it's time to visit what family and friends we have left and enjoy it.

I have to admit I do feel like that. To me its just become too commercialized now, when stuff is in the shops 3 months before the event I do get a little erked. I've seen creme and mini eggs on the shop floor already and its still December.

To me its just not special anymore.

I'm Christened but I consider myself an Atheist.

But as I live in a COE country I will respect others wish to celebrate the impending Boxing Day sales with a traditional Turkey on 25th December every year.

Could give 2 sts otherwise. Nice to have a couple extra days off

I suffer with social and generalised anxiety. Work people that start hanging tinsel from November and planning festivities this time of year leave me cold. I appear to others as a grinch but inside im pretty much like a coiled spring right up until the day when I am surrounded by family and loved ones. That is what xmas is about for me. The work parties and associated bullst Im happy to leave behind.

I always have great sense of relief when the last of my wife's relatives leaves after breakfast on Boxing day.

What irritates me most is that she spends pretty well the entire time in the kitchen.

Yep, me as well. Another oe that will be glad when it's over and done with. I've made more effort this year than last - actually bought a bottle of Baileys and a tub of Celebration chocs. Oh yeah, and bought a Turkey roast thing and some spuds that the dogs and I will enjoy.

Bah Humbug!

Nothing to do with commercialisation or even family overload. I've just stopped enjoying it for personal reasons, in fact it's more than that. I actually get upset that things are no longer pleasurable and I'm annoyed about that being taken away from me as I used to be very good at it all.

So I don't do it any more and am glad when the outside pressure of being told to be festive is over for another twelve months. I won't be seeing anyone on the day apart, perhaps, later on in the evening when the chap behind the bar serves me a beer.

I'd prefer to spend the day on my own but I can't.

I'm with Impasse here. Had a st couple of years (mental) health wise and currently going through a divorce. I'm "lucky" in that I'm working Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's day. Frankly I'm dreading the whole lot of it and just wish it was over. Got rid of all the booze as otherwise, I'd end up at home alone on Christmas day night, stfaced and crying on the dog. If I wasn't working I know I'd stay in bed for days on end and only get up to let the dog out.

Christmas : the most wonderful time of the year. Those words hurt me to write, I despise this crap. It's a st time and for kids, not adults. What a lod of old crap it is. Glad when it's January. Bah flaming humbug. Family time? You mean catching up with people you neglected all year? Balls to it. Fracking adverts and pretend festive gobste. Whiiney arsed films about good intentions and stupid soppy stories. HATE.
