Following the "Go Bag" thread, it got me wondering about whether or not people carry a typically more useful pocket knife or multi-tool with them?

I often have my Leatherman with me and it comes in useful for all kinds of things.

At my work desk I have a Swiss Army Knife "camping" which is also very useful.

When out and about camping/in the outdoors or just abroad an Opinel No.8 is handy. Not really an urban UK pocket knife.

Around the house, garage and garden my Mora Viking has been used for just about any cutting task, but again, not something to carry about with you in the UK.

Yep, carry a leatherman with me all the time when I'm working, I rarely need more than a screwdriver in my job so its better than humping a bag full of tools everywhere

Yep, usually have a small pocket knife on my person, currently a little spyderco pingo and a multitool in my work bag, currently a SOG black tip. I have a few knives and tools and swap them around regularly.

Exactly. I've habitually kept a penknife to hand since I was a boy; just too useful.

There's even one in my pen pot at work, and everyone else finds that useful for unbuggering the A0 plotter / re-trimming prints smile

At work I carry a Gerber multitool. It doesn't come with me elsewhere unless I happen to have left it in my coat pocket.

I don't go anywhere at all without a small torch (Nitecore D25A), though.

Non-lockable blade, less than 3.5 inches long. Unless deemed 'offensive weapon' in which case not allowed. Police/courts judgement on that.

Most farmers wouldnt be able to do their job without a pocket knife, and I dont know anyone whos had any trouble carrying one, despite most having lockable blades.

I generally carry a 4' long sword with me. coffee

hehe

I had small knives when I was a kid for doing 'outdoors stuff' (no computers, mobile phones back then, it was all about making dens, riding bikes and stuff), when I left school and did a practical job I carried a Victorinox Swiss Army and still do now, only in my work clothes though, never at any other times.

Earlier this year I sprained the locking mechanism on the locking blade cutting back some ivy and the blade won't go back properly, if anyone knows where/who to get this fixed I would appreciate it.

I suppose in theory I could carry a butterfly knife ( http://youtu.be/cIj11J7Ncm4 ) as I've never been stopped by the police but sod's law and all that. hehe
