Now they do look rediculous. With Tat's you can get them removed these with a dinner plate through their ears can you sow the ear back up?

12mm is nothing. I was on about the people who have 3" dinner plates swinging from their lobes. I bet your tattoos don't encompass your neck either?

You think I'm snobbish, I just think about all the people who cannot help their looks (ie skin conditions, birthmarks or disfigurement) who would love to have the looks that other people self-mutilate in the name of "expression"
You are quite correct, nothing past collar and cuffs.

No, I do not think you are snobbish.... I think you are an idiot who makes inflammatory remarks about the way people look, when in reality you are just a jumped up little tt with less dress sense than my bloody mother, who would be happy wearing a table cloth if it had flowers on it!

Lets be honest, the day I want to look like this....

Is the day I feel it necessary to commit social suicide

Totally agree, plus it annoys me the people who moan they can't get a job because of their tattoo's and piercing's. Erm, hello you decided to do that to yourself so it's your fault!

I am so pleased that my girlfriend was smart enough never to get any, infact they are a total turn off for me.

I actually find heavily tattooed women a massive turn-on.... plus they are all filthy

It's a strange old world and if people are happy doing what they are doing who are you to judge?

Feels like I am banging a drum here, but I have a very good job, I am heavily tattooed too.

How exactly is that different to some complete tool wearing all of Screwfix's workwear including hard hat and then taking a photo of themselves and posting it on a car forum?

Attention seeking at its best.

Right.

It is often stated on the Tattoo thread that negative comments are unwelcome, that it is about people who do have ink, and turning up and slagging them off is inappropriate.

I can see the logic.

This thread, however, appears to be specifically about peoples opinions on tattoos. Opinions.

Tats are divisive and if you can't handle a little negative opinion this may not be the thread for you.

Odd response? its not about "giving a fk" as you so eloquently phrased it. It is about tastes and life choices as far as I'm concerned.

In my opinion, tattoos are tasteless and have very negative associations, however, it would appear, that my character is being questioned for having this opinion?
"In my opinion, tattoos are tasteless and have very negative associations" - then yes, your character is being questioned on the basis that you appear to be a very shallow, intolerant and judgemental person. I have tattoos. I also have a degree and a decent, professional job. I wouldn't categorise myself as any of the various stereotypes mooted. But, because people (like you) arbitrarily judge others on things like this I make sure it's nothing that can't be covered up by a suit. Heaven forbid you get offended!

It's like anything in life, it can be done well or it can be done badly. It can be subtle or completely overdone. Everyone's frame of reference and personal tastes differ. Don't assume everyone is barrolling towards an epiphany of regret and self-loathing just because you don't like their sense of style.

There's also something quite ironic about people arguing against the negative/caarncil image of tattoos by being all angry and potty-mouthed. hehe

There's no doubt that tattoos are rare among the professional classes.

Fact?

Can you link me to your nationwide peer reviewed study.

What's the percentage of people out of work without tatoos vs with?

Edit , to answer above question 43. No tatoos and nobody in my family gas ever had one despite my father and uncle being in the navy.
It will certainly affect your chances of employment if they are visible. I don't have tatoos but spent a decade in the Navy so know plenty of people that have them (its not as common as you would think though).

Rightly or wrongly people without tatoos will form an opinion about people with tatoos, much like any other unusual body modification. Its just human nature.
Reading this thread I guess you are right. There does seem to be an awefull lot of judging going on.

It probably shows my low class up bringing but it was common where I am from for people to have tattoos and jobs. I also started in factories where many people had tattoos.

Just seemed normal to me. some dye their hair some wear expensive jeans some have tattoos.confused

I wasn't picturing mr cool ice or HNIC on the forehead. I was thinking the normal sleeves black panther/dragon type things.

I wouldn't think twice about somebody with tattoos if i was interviewing. guess I'm in a minority.

the only reason i dont have one is I have absolutely no creativity and cannot think of anything original or personal or didn't thinking about it today I've had an idea but wouldn't get it done anyway.

Supported by the evidence in this thread, my opinion is that tattooed people are overly defensive.

I know of a chap that owns a tattoo shop, it's said that 90% of the women he has tattooed he has banged.
Now that's something to think about.
I'd be asking to see the custard.
The tattooists custard?
roflI can't say for certain, but I have work colleagues that have had work done by him and that's sort of how I know him, I have been to the shop though and there's no doubt some of the stories are true, the few times I've been there women seem to throw themselves at him.

Here are some things I find incredibly beautiful...

And I fully except that in aesthetics we all differ but I put these images here in the knowledge I will be judged for them, and people with tattoos should know also that they will be and that a lot of the population have sub standard intellect and are quick to act on prejudice.
