I am looking for a new wallet as mine is getting a little old and tatty. Has anyone ever had a Smythson wallet? I don't mind spending the money as long as it will last.

I was looking at this one in particular. http://www.smythson.com/burlington-navy-eight-card...

Thanks in advance!

You would be a mug not to buy one of their sale wallets. I've just bought one for 80 quid (hasn't arrived yet) or so from double that and it looks similar/better than the one you linked. Their stuff I think is regarded as good qaulity.

ETA - It was brown actually, but I like brown, maybe you could learn to like it to save £150 wink

I saw the sale wallet, do they offer any other colours than brown? I just don't like the brown colour.

As crass as it sounds, I always struggle to find a wallet that'll take a decent amount of cash plus a few cards without looking ridiculous.

I've just moved out to Qatar and there is literally hardly any coins and the currency rate is £1 = 6 Qatari Riyals so normally end up with a few 1 Riyal notes and need a few spaces for cards due to UK and Qatar bank accounts plus others.

Had one some time back and was nice. but it didn't last that well.
Aspinal lasted better than the smythson. Paul Smith lasted ok too.

Vuitton lasts better than the rest in my experience. Pick a color like damier ebene, graphite, epi or ardoise for something a little more subtle than the over used monogram.
Better still, ditch cash completely and get just a card holder.

I agree about the card holder except you can actually fit a few notes in as well. Just got one of these for my birthday after stumbling on one of these threads

And so it should be - price reflects this.

Get yourself a Jack Russell Malletier one.

I have been abusing mine for 2 years (and it does get a lot of abuse) and it is still holding up just fine.

Wallets are a very individual thing though. I am about to start looking for the replacement for this one as it took me 2 years to find a replacement for the last one having rejected all sort of other designs.

I bought the 8 card Panama wallet by Smythson about 4 weeks ago. So far so good and I really like it.
