I had this weird dream - premonition if you will.

1. Around mid to late June - well have threads about putting the clocks forward.
2. Around the end of August we'll have threads about Christmas coming earlier each year.
3. Around the end of Oct we'll have threads about putting the clocks back and how fireworks should be banned for sale to the public.

I wonder if it will come true?

OK, a couple off the top of my head.

I was a kid and my parents would eat at a local pub called the St Mary's Vaults. One day there was a family in with a little son aged 4 or so.He was chatting away about there being a picture outside of a bird and a little boy.
Someone twigged that he was referring to the pub sign.

Apparently many many years ago the pub had been called the Eagle and Child. The sign was long gone, the pub had changed its name long long before the kid was born.

My mate and his sister were staying in a country hotel with their parents. They were little kids and were left sleeping while they went down for dinner.

The pub sent up a babysitter. A girl who sang them songs and told them rhymes. She was dressed in old fashioned gear.

My friend and his sister were full of it in their parents return, so much so that when checking out the next day my mates Dad thanked the manager for having someone look in on the kids. He'd not asked them to do this but could he leave a tip for the babysitter as the kids thought she was great.

There was an uneasy pause, and the white faced manager explained that there had been no baby sitter, but that there was the spirit of a Victorian girl reported upstairs!

Same friend tells a story about a haunted aeroplane hangar.

He was into light planes and was either learning to fly or had passed. Either way he helped out at the local flying club which like most I guess was a former wartime aerodrome.

Wierd stuff happened in the hangar. He misplaced a tool and realised he had left it somewhere. As he went to get it he found it next to him in the hangar floor. He would have heard it if he had dropped it. There were cases of aircraft contol surfaces being found at odd angles, flaps down, rudder hard starboard, port or whatever.

One night he was locking up. He could hear a hubbub of people talking in the building and assumed it was some committe meeting so he left them for a few minutes. Eventually he went in to chuck them out as he wanted to lock up. The noise was coming from a room in a darkened corridor. When he got to the room, tye noise stopped and the room was empty.

Apparently it had been the Officers' mess during the 1939-45 unpleasantness.

My father-in-law tells of a late night journey he and a colleague were making on the way home after a late shift. It was in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, just outside the small town of Uniondale back in the early eighties.

They saw a woman hitchhiking in the dark and stopped to give her a lift into town. After a while he looked back to talk to her but there was nobody in the backseat.

The tale of the Uniondale phantom - the ghost of a 22 year old girl killed in a car accident on the road in 1968 - is now folklore in South Africa with others reporting similar tales over the years, but my FiL swears blind it happened.

Near me on the A3 at Burpham in Surrey, a few years ago someone driving their car at night reported seeing headlights veer off the road and in to the undergrowth on the side of the road.

Police were despatched to check it out but could find nothing, until after a bit more searching they came across a car that had crashed approximately a year earlier, still with the driver in the car, he and been reported missing a year prior.

Weird things happen in my dads house, my old bedroom in the extension has always been freezing, no matter the time of year and how high the heating is on, pictures move in the dining room; which is part of the extension, the electric shower in the ensuite has come on by itself; extension again. People have felt things, I've seen things in mirrors, all in the extension.

The MIL died in the front room of our house late last year.

The electric wall clock in the room stopped at exactly the same time! I've changed the battery, but it still won't run.

I may have made up the part about the clock.

Firstly, none of my immediate family are religious and only ever go to church for weddings, funerals etc.

At the end of November 2013 we sadly lost my younger brother, died suddenly and unexpectedly aged 39.

Earlier in 2013, I had been contacted by an old University friend of mine, Eleanor, who was back living in her native Israel. I had not been in contact with her for 20 years. We had exchanged a few emails and when she heard about my brother's death was of course deeply sympathetic and, being religious herself, when to her local church, the Stella Maris Monastery in Haifa.

She said a prayer for my brother and lit a candle which she took a photo of and emailed me. I cropped the photo and added some words, thinking the image could be used as part of the funeral.

When I showed my parents the picture and told them where it was taken, they told me that they visited the Stella Maris Monastery only 3 weeks previously whilst on a cruise.

Moved into my 'new' (500-year-old) place six months ago. Had many strange things happen since. Mrs.Tuono's had various things go missing which subsequently turn up in a certain room. Grandson goes rigid and starts to cry in this room. Other youngsters have said they have seen a man in a long black dress in the same room. The site was once part of a monastery...yikes

MrsTuono was in the bath one day and thought I was moving furniture about downstairs. After 30 minutes or so of this, she came to see what was going on. The noises stopped instantly. I was out walking the dogs, and had been for an hour.

The house next door to the one I grew up in was "haunted" even though it was a 1960's new build.

The bloke once saw an old woman walk across the landing when he was at the bottom of the stairs. Their dog would freak out and start barking at the bottom of the stairs from time to time.

When they had a kid it would strike up one way conversations (heard on the baby monitor). When the kid got older it described an old lady who use to come into his room and talk.

They moved!

I bought an M3 from a guy in Brighton a few weeks back.

Asking around since, no-one ever remembers anyone living at that house, or even there being an M3 parked outside.

Not really - but there was an odd coincidence with it. The guy I bought it from works as a mechanic with his Dad, and he carried out most of the routine servicing on the car himself, keeping every receipt for everything he bought for the car in the time he had it.

His Dad has a trade account at their local motor factors.

The account number of that trade account matches the last six digits of my mobile number.
