Conversely, if any women are reading this and are wondering how to broach the subject of 'his' weight gain, we are happy for you to just say so and will either smile proudly and agree, or join a gym and eat less.

Carefully cut half way through a leg of the dining chair she normally sits on.

Await hilarity when she next sits on it.

Next time you're having sex, get her to ride on top for a bit. Let nature take its course and when the ambulance arrives to re-inflate you, they can tell her.

My wife was a size 6 and not quite 7 stone when we got married. I was okay with her being a size 10, but what really pissed me off when I was a lardy 17 stone, and trying to loose weight, was her constantly nagging me to loose weight, whilst at the same time providing me with a food orientated life style that basically stopped me loosing weight.

Now I'm hoovering around 14 to 15 stone, abut take my exercise reasonably seriously, but she is verging on being a size 14 and 9 stone, but never takes any effort to exercise or moderate her hobby which is cooking.

Looking at the fatness, I'm now have a bit less, but it's fitness which is where we differ.

I find it ironic that she still nags me about my weight.

Anyway. I made a point the other day, when asked to find her some clean underwear out of the tumble dryer, of providing her with size 8 items of our daughters, which apart from the size are almost identical, to her size 12 knickers.

I can't remember my exact words, but when I was handed them back, and asked to find a larger size, I pretended that I thought she was a size 8, and refused to believe she'd put on that much weight.

One subtle way of breaking this to her would be to stagger in from a long evening out, slap her on the arse, and say "Right fatty, you're next!"

Lose - not loose
Hovering - not hoovering (which would be a term for vacuuming!)

I hate to be the one that points it out, but it really does my head in. Especially lose/loose. I see it everywhere.

Well I plucked up courage and using the wisdom of PH and all the tips I have gleaned from this thread, I finally told mine she had put on a bit of weight and could do with either a few weeks on a diet, or an exercise regime, or preferably both.

The hospital have told me I could be out by the weekend once the swelling shows signs of going down and the internal bleeding has stopped. They have said it might be a while before I am ready for sex again though.

Oh well every cloud has a silver lining.

Find something she has an intolerance to and slip it in her food in every meal.

Agarol (sp) in her milk, after a few days on this you may be searching the local sewage outfall for her back teeth

Christ. Can't see that working for a woman, though.

I'm a greedy fker. Provide me with nice food and lots of it, and I'm still hungry afterwards. I have no will power. So whilst I was not forced to tuck in, I enjoyed sharing the joy of food with the woman I love.
