Being council is not about how money you have to spend. I earn pretty much the square root of feck all,my car is worth scrap only.yet this thread makes me smile. The gate without a fence or wall is a classi c.
Chill out people.
Obviously those sort of comments are funny. However laughing at people that can't afford things until pay day isn't.

I didn't know PH's had turned into mocking people that can only afford to live in council accommodation. And for the record I had my P1 at 21... Not the cheapest thing to own at that age.

Why are you even on PH's if you think a car as rated as a Subaru P1 is 'a bit council'?
LOL!

Easy.

Perhaps you've sort of missed the piss-taking nature of this thread.

I love Subarus.

A RB320 is on my wish list of weekend cars for the future.

Hmm, all getting a bit serious...

I like this thread, I don't see it as sneering, quite to be laughed at myself, we all do stuff that can amuse others, there is a website called "stuff white people like" and most of it is bang on piss takes of white people.

Just keep it light hearted.

No, fk you - that's an excuse for being called out on badly mis-reading the mood of life in general. It's not satirical, and in general terms, it's not funny. Whether you're looking at council, chavs, travelling brothers or other, one thing you dont do is find a limitless point of shaming people, in this case what people can afford. That doesnt denote council people, it brushes through a lot of people from all walks of life. If you thought what you wrote was funny, that says you really dont get it

If you can be arsed to look, further back in the thread you'll see comments from me too on council vs others differences. So I'm not on some moral high ground to defend the rights of our council estate brethren and their wonderful ways.

Your comment summed up a lot of what I see is a common attitude on here from posters either unable to deal with or recognise a changed world around many people on here, who see life pretty much as their village and overpriced lattes on the commute to work, blind to what's actually going on. Or they think they're associated with pedastalled richer types and desperately want to fit in, to somehow elevate themselves in others minds

It's always been suggested that PH is self moderating, and I've always assumed that this is to stop the txttyper nutters being able to run riot, but now, lately, the sneerers, the loadsacash mentality, the I'm better than you attitudes seem to be everywhere, and I dont like it. It creates a divide that doesnt need to be there, isnt actually there other than in the minds of people who want to look that they're doing so well, which is sad as no-one needs to keep up appearances

A nice mud patch in front of the house from parking the Subaru/Corsa/Mobility car on, instead of the drive way provided.

I think Jarvis Cocker summed things up perfectly all those years ago.

The Common people ARE laughing at you and the stupid things YOU do.

I like being council.

I loved cruises back in the day. Park up in a big car park and watch people drive like lunatics until the police move you on. Traffic light grand prix at every set of lights to the next car park. Great fun!!

Some very funny posts on this thread, brings back memories of growing up a stones throw from a large council estate in a northern city.

I grew up and went to school with all the characters, several of whom now have prison sentences behind them but i found to be good lads.I think we are all a victim of our circumstances and their parents didn't give them the best start they could have perhaps, not making excuses for them,i was fortunate and went the other way.I saw one of them in a pub(not Weatherspoons no)a few years ago and was pleased to hear he was sorting his life out now.

A bit council, that snooking up with the nose thing ,like a year round cold,or going two's on a fag.

I do think there is too much snobbery in the UK now, some right plonkers out there.

Yr tracksuit pants tucked into yr white socks

Being white but speaking in a West Indian accent

Yr house number painted unevenly 2' high on the brickwork by yr boarded up front door

Huge collections of things that you think are worth money eg

China dolls
Thimbles
Eddie stovart memorabilia
Toby jugs
Beer memorabilia
Exotic pets of any description
Bird tables or garden furniture made of pallets
Cable tv package that has everything but you've no carpets and yr kids are ill dressed
An inability to write joined up
Yr children have made up names
Ie Jaxon Barclay sharmarly or bdized versions of the correct spelling
Yr waiting for money from a compensatoon claim
You have the latest smart phone and no credit on it
You drive a brand new people carrier and have a disabled badge: as some random old person in the family has been tricked by you into handing over their dla so you can massively help them out by doing an occasional shop for them
You and yr infant children are morbidly obese but of course it's someone else's fault.
You have tattoos;) naturally in gothic script of children's names and quite often some random scrote "who was a good lad" but binned his car into a lamppost whilst failing to stop for the plod
You go to the food bank but can afford to smoke and have cable tv.
