Hm, as a matter of fact your opinion, in as far as it covers going to games, is not supported by the demographic that attends. Certainly not the EPL which is now very middle class. Apart from oddities like Newcastle, very few supporters go to the game in replica shirts. Maybe 5%.

Comments about the girls in the background on the TG thread.

It's as if the people making the comments think that's the only place to see pretty girls, rather than fat freckled chubsters with diamante studs through their cheeks, lips, noses etc, crushing fake Ugg boots beneath vastly overweight thighs, hanging around the local costcutter on "payday" (eg Giro day) smoking L+B whilst eating chips from the tray and shouting at LaFawnda.

Seriously, I see prettier girls on the park and ride bus in to town, or going to the local sandwich emporium at lunchtime, but don't feel the need to leer, letch or come on PH and shout about it. Yes the TG girls are/can be pretty, but worth posting about?

You've confused 'council' with 'cringe'.

Just because the core demographic has been priced out that doesn't transform two dozen yobs, spitting and swearing into the height of refined culture and good taste.

I assume you are using the governments newly favoured definition of middle class i.e. Can write and owns a car. As we're all socially mobile now aren't we...

What's that thing where someone deliberately misunderstands something to demonstrate superiority? That one.

Not really, I don't think I have - although the two aren't mutually exclusive. It's quite a council thing to do to sit and watch primetime telly and give a running commentary on "da clunge". IMO, YMMV etc.

Being in the top gear audience is definitely council. You see all those grinning loons with their girlfriends shoved to the front in the hope that Jezzer might want to test drive them.

Top Gear makes me ashamed (by association) to be a petrolhead. It's probably the single greatest reason I no longer mention cars when someone enquires as to my interests.

Should be canned.

Working in IT is a bit council. I don't think anyone from my boarding school works in IT, even the people on scholarships.

I imagine people who went to state school are usually a bit council.
