I didn't realise the rugby community would be so defensive - or quick to react. Shows there's a lot of passion there.

Remember this thread is (with a few welcome serious but welcome exceptions like the housing stiff above) supposed to be light hearted.

We are taking the puss out of others, and ourselves here.

An amusing diversion, nothing more.
RU, especially at international level, is not a matter of life and death - it is much more important than that.

What do you mean "become"?

Scabby-borough has always been Council.

I think that's unfair, the centre of town is a bit tired but there are still plenty of nice bits, the South Cliff is still very un-council for example.

Shorts !! never.

Shorts and football shirt ---yes.
OK, moving on to uber-council summer plumage...

Full length trousers (preferably trackie bottoms) and no top.

Tucked into ones socks and hands down the front; trackie bottoms are usually light grey.

Quite.

And entirely coincidentally, we're going through quotes for the lawn right now...

That's uncanny! I saw the very same person today in town, the only difference was that my one had a baseball cap perched right on top of his head.

I mentioned this some time ago with the adddition 'Scratching furiously while still at the counter, or directly outside the shop, with a sense of desperation'.

Modern cahncil toothless woman in front of me in a corner shop today won £55 after counter top scratching. Proceeded to buy 20 fags & another half a dozen scratchcards. It was her rasping "a number one, two frees, five, six and a ate" the grated on me.

I like old school council, the days of the football pools.

Massive trampolines with "safety netting" wrapped around them, that not only take up pretty much all of the space that used to exist in the garden, before the trampoline arrived, but also tend to have a height twice as tall as the 6ft+ perimeter garden fencing once erected.
