I smoke inside if it's my home or the home of a good friend and it's agreed. Most of my friends smoke though
I live now in Ulster, and there are still a lot of smokers in my town. I left my home city of Norwich in 1990 and at that time nobody I knew still smoked. None of my family, none of my friends. Coming here was like going back in time.
Didn't mean to offend anybody.

Since the smoking ban in shops it's really noticeable now when someone comes into my shop who's been smoking at home - the smell from their clothes is shocking. I suppose it's because the odour of cigarettes is now hardly ever encountered in a public place, so you notice it more.

I don't know about that, I don't smoke around children. Not because it's council or not but because it's the wrong thing to do. When I smoke in my home it tends to be either me alone or with a couple of other people who also smoke.It's pretty rare that I do that though. 95% of the time at least I step into the garden. I don't often smoke at home anyway. It's just a habit, I suppose.
Just to clarify - I only smoke tobacco. Cigarettes or cigars.

I was on the boat Sunday and we passed a family out for a walk, mother, father (?) and three young children. The smell of weed from the dad's spliff was very very strong even though we were 20-25 metres away. Scrutters.Just been out to the local shops.
On the way I passed a tanning/beauty salon. Standing outside were 6 or 7 blond'n'orange scouse wags, all dressed in t-shirts proclaiming them to be members of a hen party. They were having a massive, loud screechy and very public row for all the street to hear.
Keep it classy, Liverpool....

On the whole, smoking is council. And so are you for defending it and dressing like an Estate Agent. I'm not really defending it, I just think that it's something people across the social spectrum do (although you're probably right that the demographic of council smokers may well be greater than in other social classes)
