Substituting the letter a for the letter u, for example;

"Oi, ya facking cant"
I was out recently early morning after a session in town standing near the taxi rank , talking to a proper chav woman early forties and her equally chavvy daughter, mother sees a doorman she knows and without a hint of self consciousness and in front of said daughter , shouts to him 'gereeeeer ya cant I wanna shag ya' ,

Parking amongst many other things used to piss me off no end in our estate. New build estates definitely come under the council banner. Building tomorrow's slums today!

Eight years of saving and accepting a fifty grand loss we finally escaped.

I had my fill of that sort of crap after living in the city centre for eighteen months, we couldn't hack it any longer. But I don't think it is overtly council - more of a nationwide plague that infests all ages, races, religions and social classes.

I hate people, frankly.

Just got back from a week in Spain. On the outbound flight the pwoppa cockney geezer sat next to me was wearing grey marl joggers, white Adidas trainers and a polo shirt. The look said 'council' (TBH he was a bit council, although very entertaining) but I couldn't a) help but think of this thread and b) think he was probably the most comfortable bloke on the plane, whereas the rest of the passengers aboard the Easyjet* to Murcia were dressed up in their Sunday best like some bygone age.

Yeah, I know, Easyjet, council smile
Was there applause when the plane landed?

I've experienced that on a flight to Sharm, but not when I went to the Maldives.

One spotted today - a tumble dryer exhaust hose coming out of the window.

Not just any window.

The upstairs rear bedroom window of a 2-bed house with single mum (natch) and 2 kids living there.

Strangely enough it used to come out of the kitchen window - they maybe thought that was too council wink

One I encounter regularly.
People who smoke themselves into disability and then get a car they'd never be able to afford in real life through Motability. Then they treat it like st.

A lot of detail, are we to assume you are council?

Any urban Scot who is not middle class.

I say urban, becasuse there are plenty of decent non Middle class Scots in rural areas.

Get yourself amingst the lower orders from Glasgow and the surrounding council areas and the noise, swearing and general counciality it unbelievable.

Most are actually nice folks. Kind and very often polite. Not horrible like English Chavs, but they take being rough to new levels.

I talk from experience. My folks had a static caravan (Possibly council to some) at a place in SW Scotland. . Beautiful place, nice locals and some very nice respectable owners. When the folks from Glasgow and surrounding areas rocked up, the noise levels trebled, Scottish flags were unfurled, loud music, , shouting. The first time I heard the C word was from a Scot. He was chastising his little boy.

As I say, not all working class Scots.

I have the occasional smoke too, and they're rollies. I also have a van for work.

Stepping back and looking at it all, I am incredibly council. I'll let myself out the thread.

Oh no, one just suffers the misfortune of living near these lovely people. I spotted the hose when I was out gardening yesterday.

Mind you, seeing as being able to view your neighbours was previously deemed to be council, maybe I am...
