So nothing branded (Berghaus for example) and nothing un/own branded (Primark/F&F etc) as both are "council"

anything we can wear with being labelled? wink
Berghaus?
Interesting example. I've never known anyone to wear it as anything fashionable. It's more the preserve of mountaineers and fishermen, who on the whole aren't the most fashion-conscience groups of people.

Berghaus always seems to be worn by middle class outdoorsy types to be found at various National Trust places with a couple of small kids in tow, obviously into walking, she doesnt wear makeup and you get the impression he will still be yomping up Kinder Scout, looking much the same at 94.

Branded clothing full stop. It's like 'Hey I'm wearing these expensive clothes and I am not council because I buy this expensive branded garb...' etc

Yeah fair enough. My post lacked detail.

I was referring to the clothes that splash the brand across the clothing as part of the design. You know the D&G st etc

During the winter months most locals seemed to wear either Super Dry (Japan) or Berghaus labelled coats confused

Storing stuff on top of flat roofs.
My neighbour does this. Is it still council if the items are bits of his yacht? Fenders and that sort of stuff. The flat roof is a garage which contains a mint 1970s MGB and some classic motorbikes.

Oh and his Dad is a knight. (Gt and good retired businessman but I have to admit he has a 'local' accent.)

God I'm so confused. Is my house worth nothing now? Do I speak to him
About this?

most council would think Kinder scout was some kind of chocolate egg.

Being proper council means you rarely if ever leave the estate, let alone do something as adventurous as walking up a mountain!

True. The small parade of shops will have a Post Office for benefit collection, an off-licence for cans, a sweet shop for unhealthy food and fags, a take-away food shop, and maybe a small convenience store for basics like bread and papers. They don't need to leave the estate, and anyway they feel most comfortable with "their own sort".

A lot of stick for Superdry clothes, but what about the budget version of those by the name of Tokyo Laundry? I've got a few items by them, mainly from TK Maxx (is that council too?), and they look to be in a similar style to Superdry just a lot cheaper...
I regularly shop at TKMaxx, so no, definitely not council.
I'm afraid it's very council. Clothes from brands that no one wants (bright colors, odd sizes) at bargain prices.. No where better to get a bright green Ralph Lauren polo with huge yellow horse logo.

See also 'designer outlets' especially in the north west (Cheshire oaks), white range rovers on finance and orange faces. Also seen on Orlando holidays, and having 'cheeky nandos'.

Sorry.
On finance you say? Is there no end to their filth? Savages.

I'm noting that the lesser engined e46 saloons are becoming a bit council these days. They can be found parked on the grass fronted kerbside outside their local authority house complete with dogst on the tyres.

Anywhere described as having a "close knit community" in tv news reports of a stabbing*
