I live in a flat when I'm in the UK. We have a big cupboard downstairs that al the rubbish goes in to. It doesn't matter if you recycle or not, all the bags - black or clear - go in the back of the same truck once a week. I even left some tyres in there once, with a view to taking them to the tyre place that weekend for recycling - they got taken. Old paint cans, doesn't matter what it is or how toxic. The bin men take them.
In Essex? If so, all that waste is mechanically and manually sorted for recycling.

Personally, I am a big fan of the "Little Nipper"
I have a couple of little nipper traps and I don't like them because they are too 'hair trigger' to the point of being almost unsettable. This, and the likelihood of catching the mouse by its foot or leg rather than a clean instant kill. Horrible things (the traps, not the mice).

I have a rodent problem in my garden shed and deal with it with a Victor electronic rat trap. It's brilliant and pretty well instant.
...electronic you say.

Does it make the kind of noise you get when Igor throws the master switch in the castle during the thunderstorm?

Sadly not. frown I suspect it goes Zzzzzt.. and the rodent will go Aaaargh! and thrash about for a second or two.

We get one that comes round our way at 8 at night. In winter. I am pretty convinced it is selling drugs.

Have you spent a lot on 'improvements'?

That seems like a significantly sensible way of doing it. Avoids the "this, but not that" of a big blue bin, or the frankly ridiculous ten little separate containers I see round some places. Does it add a lot to the cost of processing, and does it help Essex achieve better recycling numbers?

Do the neighbours now qualify for a Council Tax rebate?

And by how much has this reduced the value of both the carbuncle and its neighbouring properties, I wonder?

Some fantastic quotes, eg how are you going to look after the baby? I can make soup and curry.
Anyone (journalists included) that uses the phrase "fall pregnant."

If you can't be arsed, fair enough, but how does one not 'particularly believe in' recycling?

We're not talking about Santa or the Easter Bunny here.
Well, other than starting massive fires whenever the yard gets full of unrecyclable tat, what does the average recycling plant actually do?

Our recycling is mixed paper - plastic - glass - metal. How the hell are they going to process that efficiently? The average hiusehold plastic will be a mix of pet / hdpe / ldpe / pet-g / polystyrene. That in itself is a challenge, without a wolrd of paper in the mix...

Not on the Isle of Wight by any chance? If not, there's a VERY similar one there, doing the usual first gear, high revs cruises past the local secondary school at kicking out time.

Awful, awful image, no matter how capable the car. I just could/would never want to be seen dead in one.
