For all the mincing around with china cups in Bettys tearoom you will find, there is also a massive darkside to Harrogate that the locals hate to admit to. Big conference centre = lots of bored men in hotel rooms on their own = massive prozza trade and associated vice. Not so genteel.
That makes sense, The place had a seedy air. I misinterpreted it as just being a crap town because I was expecting old dears on coaches and shops selling jam and stuff, not chicken shops and dodgy bars. Why did I get the impression it was going to be a pleasant tea and cake country town?

Have we had "All Inclusive Holidays" on here yet? Grim council st from start to finish. Nothing says "I just want to get burnt pink and guzzle lager and eat chips" more than these. Why bother actually making an effort and discovering something about the local culture of the place you're visiting when you can lie around on your sunbed swilling sticky cocktails made with ethanol and horsemeat burgers for dinner. Grim Grim Grim.
We've had it in the thread already, and I pointed it out as bks before. Very much depends on the location.

Until it fell off. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3211505/...
Then I'd glue it back on and do it again.
