That is just silly. Shopping baskets as you describe are about as far from council as you can get. It could Demonstrate a social/green conscience. It certainly hints at forethought and planning. Neither features in the world of council.

These are mostly caused by the same thing - new build estates where they squeeze in as many houses as possible, instead of giving the houses a bit more room to create parking.

3-bed house? That'll be a single space on the driveway then. Until you block pave the front garden to create more parking... wink
Which is a situation created by the planning guidelines. You see the thinking is that if there's less parking, then people will need less cars.

And there's no arguing with that kind of thinking.

As in the basket from the shop or a little old lady with her wicker shopping basket?

But the ones with wheels on from Netto are great for bringing logs in from the garden.

I've just admitted going in Netto, guess I'm council.

I think he meant:

half-inched from the supermarket, to be dumped in the front garden after use.

It depends whether he meant taking your own traditional hand-woven wicker baskets, or nicking the wire one from Asda.

A rear garden replaced with gravel or decking,

One side of the street lined with cars and work vans,

You have a non-descript white car on finance parked outside,

Being able to hear your neighbours through the walls even though your house is detached,

A white UPVC conservatory at least three quarters of the size of the garden,

Fake chimneys,
Not sure you're quite grasping the concept of council. Unless you're so upper class and out of touch with reality you've got the butler to write your posts on PH.

Either that or this thread is doing its monthly "disappear up its own arse" again.

Fair point, older houses are much better with ample parking.

My missus does this and as a result, she is now called .

I have two in the back garden, I refuse to do the walk of shame back to waitrose.

However she has no issue with this, the problem being she's just lazy and doesn't bother.

I guess I'm council by association....

Possibly I am posting something already here, so forgive me if so. A Chrysler with a Bentley badge? Seriously council. Look here:-
