Heart and Free Radio are almost as bad.

Having worked a few st jobs in my early years, the radio stations certainly matched the listeners.

I do often see Free Radio stickers in the back windows of tatty Zafiras too, next to a 'babby on bord' sign.

Commercial radio stations are very marketing based. They spend a lot of time profiling their target listener. It varies slightly from station to station but a lot aim at a 25-35 council "mum"

Some may aim higher but that is where the money is. Listen to the adverts and type of products they push. Also competitions, trips to Disney, "What would you do with five grand?" They push it as if it is a life changing sum.

There are exceptions to this rule but by and large mainstream chart hits radio is broadcast to the councilliaros.

I think he was trying to be ironic. (I hope.) If not, a complete failure as a response.

What about a P38 Range Rover?
yes

There's a woman down my (nicely appointed, private) road drives a P38, in gold. Ughh.

She's clearly 'old money' but every time I see her in it I think, 'cahncil!'

Proper old money then. She doesn't give two hoots about council by the sound of it. I'm liking the sound of a gold P38. I have a thing for gold cars, more the Jewish side of my heritage. :-). Or maybe I'm just council.
