'A bit cahncil': those who (for whatever reason) feel a sense of superiority toward those who live in Local Authority housing.
Around here, it's quite the hot ticket.
Belted Earls are queueing up for subsidised accommodation. So much cheaper than running The Estate.
.?? Surely everyone in their own home shoud feel superior to those in council houses - Or should we all aspire to rely on the state? It's not snobbery, it's taking pride in paying your own way...Around here, it's quite the hot ticket.

If you can rent a property at substantially below market rates, then have the right to buy it at a discount, then sell on for an immediate profit, who's laughing?
Incidentally, I am not suggesting these are my circumstances - far from it - I'm too far down the list of priorities.

Isn't it 'a bit council' to have the naivety to assume that all of those in local authority housing are there out of choice? Either that or you're just thick.MrBarry123 said:

It's hard not to bite but admittedly people tend to be correct when they take the piss out of the scheme because it does seem to be occupied by fat lazy bds.

I'd just like to point out that I personally don't look down on people in council housing because they have little means to buy their own property. I merely poke fun at the stereotypical waster that abuses the system and tends to be found living on council estates. Unfortunately for some it's a generalisation.
It's been in successive governments interests to perpetuate this generalisation. If everyone living in poverty / on benefits / in council housing are there because of some flaw in their behaviour, then a) the government doesn't need to do anything about it and b) it's an easy sell to the rest of the country to cut their benefits.Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
