The old car's plate is I think a Devon registration. It was just a wild guess.
XUN Denbighshire March to July 61 which is a bit odd on a pre war looking van.

I was watching Dragons Den a few weeks ago, and saw Tuker Suleyman's monogrammed shirt cuffs, and thought of this thread. I can't find an image of TS's shirt, but this will give you an idea. Very PH company director.

Council, council, council.

In fact more council than a child eating a Greggs' sausage roll.

I thought it reeked of fancy watch and TVR. Powerful build and goatee optional.

Monogrammed shirts are beloved of Eurotrash and American investment bankers. They think it is classy. The Brits that have them are almost without exception "Lads done good" who want to show that they are "considerably richer than yow ". A bit like a gold Rolex. [dons fire suit]

Where does that leave me then? I had some shirts tailored where I have my initials (just AL) finely embroidered in white thread just on the left breast, which against a blue/white shirt and a white shirt, are subtle? Still council?

Similarly, I have my name embroidered on the inside of my suit jacket...

Should I go and lease a new white Audi now?

Can't you just write your name on the wash label using a permanent pen?

I would, but obviously I am worried that the solvent in the permanent marker would eat through the suit material, like when you run a sharpie across some polystyrene...

I should imagine it's like having your name in your coat at school, although without the gloves on string through the arms.

Bought some shirts from Charles Tyrwhitt recently and they offer the option of monogram on the cuff.

Briefly toyed with it. Then realised it would make me look like a massive bell end and I'd have the piss ripped mercilessly by my colleagues.

Had some shirts made in Thailand and asked the guy to monogram them on the shirt pocket.
To make sure he used the right letters I scribbled KB on a piece of paper.

Expecting a nice monogrammed result when I picked up the shirts the idiot had exactly copied my scribble on the piece of paper. biggrin

I was not a happy bunny.
