Hi!
St Marys Way here, opposite the nursery. Incredibly dirty diesel 306 which is blue underneath all the grime - usually driven badly. By me.
I'm going to slightly detour my route to the gym this evening to see if I can see it!

I have a mate who live on a 'cliff' with the garden dropping very steeply to the river. I rented the granny flat underneath the house for a short while, and when the Severn was high, most of the garden was river. It must come up in height about 20 or 30. foot. I would move to South Shropshire, but wife thinks we need to live near her family. Grr.
Shrewsburys' a hidden gem - keep it that way. Just moved down from Tarporley/Cheshire and it's like a breath of fresh air. Haven't explored all the options yet, after 6 months. But up to now the quality of life takes some beating .. Lucky enough to be in central conservation bit !
At 48yrs I might finally lay down my cap !

I'd like to think it plays a quiet chamber quartet (I know what you mean, though)

I live in Rochdale. It's a great location, and a great place with lovely people. I have an excess of civic pride which makes my blood boil because I'm watching a once proud place, a dynamo of this country have its proud heritage dragged through the dirt and destroyed by rich and culturally diverse people ghettoising swathes of it, fking kids, crash for cash scamming, then having every deadleg, undesirable and scrote dumped on us by the powers that be, coupled with a council that couldn't tell their arse from their elbow.

I'll have to leave soon.
Not been to Rochdale for many a year but, sadly, Rochdale is not unique. Many other places have those "features" too. Saw that coming much more than a decade ago when my job travel took me over much of England.

Our misguidedly PC-riddled Nation are now rightly regarded as Mugs and there are those who are taking full advantage in many ways.

I'd bet a nice few quid that far from improving, it's even worse now than when I was in all those places all those years ago.

Small village just North of Norwich. Snobby types like to call the area Broadland. I call it home.

It would appear that Shropshire is a fully PH certified county. Highest density of car nutters by far and all seem to love it!

I grew up in Shropshire but I now live in Birmingham with a move to northern Cheshire looking likely.

I miss Shropshire. It's just such an excellent place frown

I have no idea where Corby is without googling.

You don't want to know where Corby is. It's in Northamptonshire roughly 20 miles from where I live which is as close as you would want to be. It's a dump voted the 9th worst place to live in the UK it has the highest teenage pregnancy rate in the UK I think you see where I'm going. Little Scotland is it's nickname. Google it to find out more fun facts.

A small village in South Bucks just outside of Oxford.

It's on the top of a hill and has beautiful panoramic views over rolling countryside for miles.

There is a large forest nearby plus fantastic roads and great pubs.

Perfect for a country girl like me who likes to spend weekend walking the dog whilst still being able to go to Oxford for shopping or nightlife when needed.

It can get horrendously busy with tourist and photographers at the weekends though.

I would love to live somewhere more remote in The Lakes but would miss family too much who are all currently only a few miles away

Brighton. Bad bits, traffic, noise and a council hell bent on turning the council tax info their cause célèbre. The bits I like; the seafront beyond the day trip dung heap between the piers, the diversity of people's that live there and mostly the fact that it's that nice mix of downs and sea. It's not London by the sea as some call it, it's got its own distinct quirky character and I like the creativeness of the place

Semi rural is what nearly everyone wants, unless you are able to have more than one houses, 'cause we all know country is best for the soul.

I live in Epsom, Surrey.

Do i like it 50/50
I moved to the area 8 years ago and in that time it has gone down hill massively, I would really like to move closer to the coast and bring by boys up in a more semi rural location away from the larger towns. However it's close to work. nights out and family and where i would like to live would mean 1 1/2 - 2 hour each way commute and right now i just can not justify that time when i could be spending it with the family.

Bexhill - 50/50 as the roads have loads of potholes and the shops are not all that but great access to other popular towns with better shops and not far from the South Downs. Gatwick is about an hour away.

The best bit is the seafront and park:

There's quite a lot more younger people living here now but Bexhill hasn't completely lost it's reputation as an old fogies town!

Currently living in Huntingdon, which if i remember correctly was the cover photo for the "Crap Towns 2" book. When people ask where it is I say it's near Cambridge, makes it sound more upmarket and posh.

Rutland just outside Oakham. Can't fault the place, lovely countryside and walks, good roads for both driving and cycling and plenty of decent pubs and restaurants within 20 minutes. Stamford close by which is great little town and pretty good location for transport links (can be in London within 90 minutes from leaving the house, Birmingham airport less than a hour with a heavy right foot)

Can't see myself living anywhere else
