Buying lots of identical items?
Discussion
I used to live near a guy who had two absolutely identical Volvo S40 saloons . same colour (white), age, spec etc and the number plates were sequential. Guess he must have ordered two from the dealer. That shows a very serious lack of imagination.
Personally it do this with socks. I have a drawer full of identical black M&S socks. Never need to worry about finding a pair, they are all the same!
I aspire to do this with boxers but since my search for the perfect pair goes on I consequently have a drawer brimming with all sots of pairs that I never wear.
Cutlery. I think I am a natural at this because I never even had to try

This thread is on its second page, and still no mention of Peter Griffin or Homer Simpson.
For the past 20 years I have bought the same jeans (2 pairs at a time) for work. They fit me, and are comfortable, and are "fit for purpose". I also buy the same work shoes whenever they wear out. And like many people, I suspect, the same multipack of socks from the same retailer.

The missus mentioned last night that she thought it strange to have multiple identical items of clothing, like the many identical white shirts (I think 10+ at last count) 5/6 blue shirts along with several identical blue suits and grey suits I have - (the suit trousers might vary by waist size slightly... but same style/cloth/tailor etc).
Thing is it takes me ages to find clothes that suit me, so when I do find something I really like with a classic (non-trendy style) I get several in case they stop selling them - (like the 7/8 pairs of jeans I now have to send them off for repair when they wear out.
Anyway - back from liquid lunch and thinking - I'm not the only one who thinks/shops like that am I?...

I have a confession. I have 30 polo shirts of assorted colors from a brand that is despised on Pistonheads. They just fit me better than any others. Ii do like the quality of the embroidery of the logo under close inspection as well
I used to only wear one brand of jeans. The first cost $120 and 5 years later and once the popularity had gone to crap I bought a pair for $25. Same jeans. think it shows that I'm not a brand snob though because I find a product that fits me even during my annual weight fluctuation of 2 stone
I have twelve identical grey T shirts, bought in Walmart, special packs, $10 for 3.I used to only wear one brand of jeans. My wife knows about these, and now she can't give me grief for not changing my shirt every day.

What brand is this? I've never seen a brand to be totally despised but I might not have been here long enough for that. I'm going out on a limb and guessing... Lacoste? Maybe?grumbledoak said:

I'm guessing Only with a bigger logo.

I get the same trainers each time I need a new pair. I like them, they are comfy, they fit my feet - have tried others over the years but it isn't the same.
I'm one step away from this, I buy same make, same style but usually different colours as the ra.get changes every year. (DC Skate Shoes by the way, comfiest trainers ever.)About twenty years ago a guy I worked with gave this Thai a hundred bucks to get him some trousers and shirts from Thailand.
About a month later he returned from his holiday with a large box, 30" cube crammed with trousers and shirts. Saying he would get the box from his car at lunchtime.
I'm not sure how many pieces were stuffed in each box, but it was a lot.
He apologised for having to double up on some of the colours as they used every material they had in an effort to fill the order.
Whether he actually wore the yellow trousers I have no idea.

I do this with DC shoes, except I change them after work for the other pair plus clean socks so they don't start to stink Sounds rank but they last a lot longer that way, the only downside to all that padding.
