hehe I actually bought one of those for a mate as a birthday present years ago, she loved it!

I've got a Diesel leather wallet that has been going strong for at least 7 years now. Not really fussed by the brand, just liked the look of the wallet, think it was about £40.

I've been in the same boat I've been hunting for a good wallet the last few months but not seen anything that took my fancy. Then I found ettinger and think I have found the wallet I'm after. Although I'm very tempted to go the minimal route with a Ettinger credit card case. However my question is what do people do when they end up with a bit of loose change? Chuck it in a pocket, coin bag or even a coin purse?
Likewise.

I know I'm poor so I need to carry coins and I hate the idea (and sound) of them loose in a jacket pocket.

Interestingly an ex bought me a Calvin Klein wallet 8-10 years ago. Still absolutely fine. Stitching not coming off, no tears and the leather is in great condition. The edges are 'rounded' owing to being an a pocket most of its life but otherwise very impressed.

I've got an Aspinal wallet and really like it, lots of different outer leather and inner suede combinations if that's your thing.

Get yourself one made from stingray leather. They're bombproof. Nuclear bombproof.
Sort of, this is about 10 years old and the stiching is going.

That it well worn and beginning to look tatty...
Sir, you're clearly in need of a replacement. wink

Here you go

I have been using one (with a different lady) for the last 4 years or so and it's still in great condition, the transfer has not worn at all.
Another vote for Paul Smith, I have the exact one linked, about 4 years old now and only really just broken in, very pleased with it

I also have a Paul Smith one and am impressed with the quality.

I bought mine from the shop in Gunwharf Quays as I was passing through - cannot remember the exact cost but it was about 50% of the standard price. Not sure if they have any online presence but if you find yourself in that neck of the woods better to have the remaining cash in your (new) wallet..

Vuitton. By far the best and longest lasting ones I have ever had, and that includes Aspinal and Paul Smith.

There are plenty of other options besides the ubiquitous monogram print. Damier Graphite is superb, but also look at Taiga, EPI, Nomade, or Cuir Taurillon for the most subtle ones, and don't forget to have it hot stamped.

Surely it's impossible to use a coin purse without looking like him?

There's at least another good 10 years left in that! I've just realised my own one is 10 years old this year, it's just getting that broken-in, comfortable fit feeling.

I got a Paul Smith one about 4 years ago and it's still perfect.

Is a coin purse EVER acceptable for a bloke?
Well, you could try to call it a coin wallet in a bid to be credible, but no - it's a purse, and as such it's for the females...
Falls in the same category as bum bags, mobile phone cases that clip to your belt, and any other dodgy "accessories" for men.

Time to dig out this photo:

I really like my Aspinall one. Had it for 6.5 years and it just has that nice worn leather look to it, no actual signs of wear.

Bought a 'The Bridge' leather wallet over 15 years ago - still in excellent condition.

I had a Harris Tweed one from NEXT for a few years - actually a really nice wallet, and still in fantastic condition!

Now replaced it for an Aspinal wallet, just because I fancied a change. Looks good so far - though not sure it's worth 4x the price of the NEXT wallet, just yet.

I've got a leather Bally cardholder that I've had over 15 years and it's still in great nick. I'd buy another when it gives up the ghost, great quality....
