Me, Sean Bean, Prodigy from Mobb Deep, Brad Pitt and Saul Goodman (forget his real name) were all starring in a new crime drama based in Camberley. We had a office set up behind a shop on the A30.

It looked like a pretty good film.

I should probably eat less cheese before bed.

My wife had a good one:

Her: I had a dream about you last night.

Me: Oh yes... lick

Her: Yeah, you had an enormous two tone American station wagon.

Me: WTF.

I had a dream that I was playing snooker with someone I work with, but there were multiple tables and I chose the best looking one and it turned out to be a pool table instead. Then the balls turned out to be made of the same sort of material bath scrunchies are made of and then finally I was setting up the snooker balls on the sheet laid directly on the ground. Even inside the dream I knew this was mental.

No, I don't play snooker or pool when I'm awake in case you are wondering. I'm worried that the "balls" might be the central theme...

I can be having a dream, wake up, go for a pee, get back into bed, fall back off to sleep, and then start dreaming the dream I was having before awaking.
Last nights dream, I was watching a huge tree on the horizon, at dusk, when a massive herd / flock whatever of Jackdaws started to roost in there, so many in fact, the tree fell over with the weight, I would imagine..
I put it down to the statins.

If I'm having a dream I don't like, I can literally wake myself up in an attempt to reset it. Even, as you say, get up and go to the loo. But when I fall asleep again, the dream will often resume and pick up where it left off just as if I'd paused it on the telly.

Very annoying indeed.

I had one dream once which was really rather meta. I dreamt that I couldn't get my dream to compile and was trying to debug it and get it to run, and was stressing that if I didn't get it debugged soon then I wouldn't get enough sleep that night.

That was definitely an odd one. Even for a programmer.

I too can continue a dream after waking up and gong back to sleep after a toilet break! Great if it's a good dream.

Maybe you never really awaken, maybe you just have this strange toilet dream halfway through the other dreams...

I had a dream the other night which scared the st out of me.

To set the scene- the staircase is behind wall which our sofa backs onto and at the bottom of the staircase you turn left into our living room, and the other bit of info is that I have one child (a daughter).

In my dream me and my wife had fallen asleep on the sofa watching TV (this really happens a lot in real life). I was woken up (in my dream) by the sound of footsteps coming down the stairs, and looked at the doorway to see my daughter walking in. But then I heard more footsteps coming down the stairs....I shook my wife and said 'there's someone in the house', and she woke up screaming.

Then I really woke up, so never did see what was coming down the stairs.

I dreamt that I arrived at the office one morning, but the building looked completely different, about the right size but brick instead of steel and glass. I took my eyes off it for a moment and it was different again, mock tudor, still three stories but the sign on the front implied it was a fish and chip shop rather than a software house. Even in the dream I figured it was an hallucination, but wondered if my real office was somewhere else. Then I recognised a colleague and decided to see where he went. He did a double take when he saw the building but entered anyway and I followed. The internal layout of the building was roughly the same and we found our desks, then I remembered I hadn't actually worked there for 5 years so would have to leave again.

Possibly inspired by reviewing my CV and trying to remember which project I did at which job.

I was sharing jokes with Ed Balls and Minigland, whilst Harriet was touching me up.

Had to run for the toilet when I woke up...

Well, you wouldn't want to crack one off in public would you.

Recently I had a dream where I was in bright colourful park, but I knew I was in a dream but couldn't wake up and when I did wake up, I was still in a dream which freaked me out, and I couldn't shout/scream. When I eventually actually woke up I was pretty sweaty and disorientated... (pretty sure watching Inception has to answer for that one)...

Still not as bad as having sleep paralysis which was effing horrendous to experience.

On Royal protection duties on a beach looking after Her Maj. Except she was back, young, slim in a one piece bathing suit and as fit as the proverbial butcher's dog.

We in the close protection team were running about in t shirts and shorts, armed to the bloody gills when it all went off.

Woke up as I had some oik pinned to the ground. Her Maj had simply just pissed off for a paddle.

Presumably the interpretation is that I secretly fancy Edwina Currie or some other moose.

But as the OP said WTF was that all about.

Related what are your strange driving related dreams? Often get one barrelling towards a scamera well over permitted limit and no brakes.

Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow —
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.

I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand —
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep — while I weep!
O God! Can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?
