God, I remember that as well ... with some frightening pics from memory ... wasn't he in uniform as well?

Edit: you already said in uniform - so it is the same one!

Where's the one from a US car thread where a bloke said he had some cracker of a girlfriend and then he posted a few risque pics up and she was the most frighetning thing ever known to man?

Someone did some fantastic gifs as well!
I remember seeing someone link that back when I was on CTRO! Hilarious thread, sure he had a Prelude if I remember rightly.

It's quite obviously a troll, but still funny to read.

yes

There was a follow up thread on reddit a few years ago where someone had bumped into them (actually got caught taking photos of them to upload to reddit) at an airport and the couple confirmed they hadn't started the thread themselves.

I've just finished re-reading this thread about a chaps experiences in the Navy and thought it was a pretty good read. I think someone posted the original link to it on here a few years a go.

Does anyone else have any links to other entertaining reads from sites outside PH (I think I've read most of PH at least twice)? Not necessarily in exactly the same vein as the above, I'll take anything that's well written and funny/interesting.
Really enjoyed reading that, thanks!

One of my favourites was the stolen Skyline in Canada, nicked and driven around by some idiot dubbed 'The Claw' due to his deformed hand, and a load of the forum members visited the thief's home, boxed him in, had him arrested and got the car back. Brilliant

Epic. I've just spent the past 48hrs reading this on and off and pmsl whilst getting funny looks from the wife. Immense, a well recommended read - there is a lot of it though. Thanks for pointing it outclap
There must be bits you don't get though because of the RN language? Even other forces won't get a lot of the meaning.

It is very well written though. Its not just the subject matter that's funny.

Haha, some good ones there. That first date story, if true, is horrific.

Absolutely. I pieced some of it together due to interest in the military, other bits I just went with and either assumed a certain meaning or just ignored. It didn't detract from the reading though - that really should be published in some way, e-book or memoirs etc.

Agree, it is very well written. It drew me in straight away. More like that please if anyone finds them cool

That is a great one, not seen it before, thanks.

Any more? I like a long read for the train.

"Often I put the rear seats flat, this reduces weight. (Like why you crawl flat across a frozen pond so as not to break the ice). I regularly drive with around £10 of fuel, again weight saving, and often I use engine cleaner in the fuel load to remove debris from the fuel injectors. The car is always clean improving aerodynamic progress. I have timed the 0 - 60 at 9.3 seconds, and this shaves a couple of seconds off the standard time."

Absolutely brilliant! rofl

IIRC there was quite a moving thread re: a Scooby forum doing a good deed for a dying lad? He loved Subarus and when they were asked to give him a ride out in a couple the forum responded by turning up with a hundred or so cars? Possibly Holland?

I'm sorry but that's just about the dullest read on the Internet! banghead

I'll precis it to save others the time.

Bloke in Canada gets Skyline stolen after letting chav testdrive - puts appeal on 'Beyond' car website.

Member see's car, gets photo of thief (a juvenile with two missing fingers on one hand) but loses sight. Another member see's car at theif's house.

What follows is about 100 pages of.

Yeah man, Beyond CSI totally rocks!

Yeah, I'd go round there and beat him up only I live too far away.

Has anyone called the police?

Yeah, I drove past, the car is still there.

Has anyone called the police?

Yeah, I'd like totally pawn the guy - I'd rip his head off and st down his neck only mum says I'm not allowed out after dark.

Yeah, Beyond rocks!

Has anyone called the police?

I nearly drove down there, I was going to knock on his door and beat him up but then I forgot

Yeah, Beyond, awesome CSI skillz dude!

Has anyone called the police?

Hi, just checking in from Chavfast Australia, awesome community guys!

Hey, lets all meet up outside the guys house!

Yeah, lets do it.

Yeah man, I'm on my way!!

Yeah, me too, lets totally freak the guy out by turning up outside his house!

Yeah!

Yeah!

Yeah!

So, is anyone actually going..?

tumbleweed

Well, I totally parked around the corner where he couldn't see me - I didn't want to spook him.

Yeah man, I drove down the next street and saw you there, you rock!

Yeah man, you rock too!

Has anyone called the police?

Hey, lets call him The Claw cos he's got two fingers missing

Hell, yeah, The Claw, you rock dude!

Yeah, The Claw The Claw!

Hey, I bet he's got a fat girlfriend

Hell yeah, The Claw with a fat girlfriend, you rock dude!

Has anyone called the police?

Hey, if The Claw gets the fat girlfriend knocked up, they'll have a fat claw... or something!

Hell yeah, you rock!

Beyond CSI rocks!

Hell yeah!!

Has anyone called the police?

Hey, if I had time I'd go down there and totally like kill him, all his family and all his neighbours only mum says I have to wash the dishes.

Hell yeah man, you rock!

Has anyone called the police?

Hey - let's call him The Claw some more!!

Yeah man, you rock!

Beyond rocks!

Epic thread man!

Has anyone called the police?

Anyway, after about fifty fking pages of this the bloke who's car it is goes down there with another guy and they call the police, who turn up and arrest the guy.

At which point the site erupts into an even bigger frenzy of self congratulary back slapping for all the things they could have done.

It's basically Pistonheads, but with more whooping! biggrin
