When did it suddenly become acceptable for middle aged couples to go round holding hands? Up until recently the only people who ever did this were 14 year olds or single sex couples trying to make a point. Now you see hand holders all over the place.
Very odd, why would you not want to walk along holding your partners hand, do you have your wife walk 20 paces behind you?SilverSpur said:

Ignoring other functions that multi-function steering wheels may/may not have on VAG cars, why is Audi the only brand of the main four whose volume switch is on the right hand side and scroll wheel on the left hand side? (The other three are opposite)
How do you actually know this....? Sure someone will say it has something to do with Audi drivers always wking themselves off while driving or something....
Yup, the A4 cabrio interior of the Exeo must be the exception!

Not always, obviously, but...
These "Zika" babies with tiny heads. Are they going to grow up:
a) normal after a growth spurt or two
b) with little heads, but otherwise normal
c) little heads and stupid
It depends how severe their microcephaly (proper science word for head/brain smallness, innit) is, for the most part. They will all grow and develop and learn new stuff, even the most profoundly affected, but many - not all, brains, and indeed babies, are amazing things - will have some level of intellectual impairment. I doubt that anyone born with microcephaly severe enough to be evident at birth will grow up with an average sized noggin, but that's the least of anyone's worries.
I definitely wouldn't say 'stupid' though - people who make terrible decisions in spite of the capacity to make good ones are stupid, people who straightforwardly find it hard to learn are not.

What? It's similar to snogging in public - understandable in teenagers but toe-curling in anyone older.rolex said:
Has anyone submitted a negative review on a product or service to the review site "Trustpilot" and they failed to print it?
No but I posted a scathing review of one of my local bars shortly after it re-opened under new management, and changed all the staff around for people who didn't know how to run a bar. They sent me £25 in vouchers and I decided I better go and spend them in order to have a reasonable go on someone else's dollar. Managed to spend them the last night they were open before they closed down for doing so badly.Edited by rolex on Sunday 7th August 12:08

Thanks FM. I did avoid the fake Latin on purpose, though I could have phrased c) more delicately. grumbledoak said:

Thanks FM. I did avoid the fake Latin on purpose, though I could have phrased c) more delicately. My daughter had microcephaly (as well as being caused by weirdery like Zika and occasionally just spontaneously, it's also really common when babies survive a brain injury - the injured bit of the brain doesn't grow at the same rate, hey presto, wonky head!) and although she didn't get old enough to really assess, she did have a) relatively severe microcephaly - she was still in 3-6 month hats at almost 2.5 years - and b) what appeared, through admittedly severe physical and eyesight limitations, to be very good cognition and capacity to learn. Brains are weird and wonderous things, an adult wouldn't live for a week after that kind of neurological catastrophe, these kids just keep on truckin'.

I should probably know the answer for this but.
Ford RS, Audi RS, Cosworth RS a ton of performance cars from all different brands seem to be designated RS, S, R or similar. Why? Why RS?
Rally Sport? RS6? An RS6 would compete in a rally?

So when people use RS they're basically saying Race Sports version of a model. Makes sense! Thanks D - diesel

We need an edited list.
L - limo
M - BMW M
X - usually BMW x- DRIVE
RS - Rallye Sport (Audi/Ford)
T - Turbo
TSI - Turbo Stratified Injection (VAG)
R - Peformance generally.
h - Hybrid - Originally Lexus, others have copied
S - either base model or Jaguar's calmer performance brand.
i - injection. Or BMW i (i3/i8)
e - Electric e.g 330e / A3 e - tron
Q4/ 4WD/ AWD / x- drive/ SAWD/quattro etc. - All wheel / 4 wheel drive. Or Subaru's Symmetrical AWD
Of late, the alphabet has shrunk to about six letters for oil-burning vehicles (and in many cases, petrols too). Pick a combination you fancy from any of the following: c, d, h, i, r, t. Capitalise and add punctuation as required.
C - compression / common
D - diesel / direct
i - injection
r - rail
h - high, hybrid
t - turbo
Thus:
d (BMW, Jaguar, Lexus)
D (Volvo, Mazda, Subaru)
CDTi (Vauxhall)
TDCi (Ford)
dCi (Renault/Nissan)
DiD (Mitsubishi)
TDI (VAG)
HDi (Peugeot-Citroen)
CDI (Mercedes-Benz)
CRDI (Hyundai-Kia)
CRD (Chrysler/Jeep)
i-CDTi (Honda)
Bonus point to Alfa Romeo for breaking the mould - JTDM. Toyota get an honourable mention for D-4D.

One about stomach muscles...
Lying on my back, if I raise one leg off the ground, from the hip, with a hand on my stomach, I can feel NO abdominal muscles doing anything.
If I raise the other leg off the ground, again, abs don't seem to do a thing.
But if I raise both legs off the ground, suddenly my abs kick in big time.
What's that all about?
