Well braun is german for brown.

And its pronounced the same. (Confused me when I learnt a smattering of German couple years back biggrin )

https://translate.google.co.uk/?hl=en&tab=wT#d...

We've been getting it wrong all the years with "brawn"

The ATMs which don't belong to any particular bank, but don't charge for cash withdrawals - how do they make money? They must be expensive to install and keep topped up.

And why do they keep asking if you would like a printout of your balance or to view it on screen... used one this morning and it asked 3 times in total! Do they get a payment from your bank or something like that?

Pretty sure they get paid by the banks for balance queries etc. This is why they ask so often! May be wrong though so don't take it as gospel

Dresden for a start. Plus we geared up to use chemical weapons in a big way, massive stocks of mustard gas shells were stockpiled at the forward filling station at Cambridge.

How come I never get one item of post? Typically two to three, frequently zero or >3, never just one.

Considering the season, Her Maj has recorded her Christmas message a few days ago. Suppose between then and Christmas day she falls off the perch. Would they still broadcast it? Would they quickly record one from Chas? Is there one from him already in the can just in case? Am I due a visit from 5 and a spell in the Tower just for even discussing it?

And an ancillary somewhat unrelated question, who the holy hell is responsible for Android auto (in)correct. In the last sentence above a suggestion as an alternative to the word "even"? Efenechtyd. What the....?

i would imagine the death of the monarch would trigger obituary procedures and major story plans amongst all broadcasters. There will be a plan for this and several other eventualities.

Don't underestimate the potential for a massive public reaction.

I imagine it would be aired, maybe with an intoduction from Charles.

I doubt thes days that they'd delay the announcement for the sake of convenience. Wasn't the death of King George 5th or 6th that was delayed so it would be run on the BBC radio 9 O' Clock news?

Watching 1966 series of Star Trek, why did they use metres and metric tonnes, when America has never used the metric system?

United Federation of Planets went metric on star date 2045.6.

Ukip are still demanding a referendum to leave claiming the Klingons sell more spaceships to us than we sell to them and we'll still be able to trade within the Galatic Free Zone without accepting free movement of Vulcans.

I have a scenario

So it's midnight and you have something to do for work the next day. (lets say a complicated form to fill in)

It's going to take an hour.

Are you better off doing it now and going to bed late?

Or

Getting up an hour earlier, being fresher and doing it then before you go to work?

Depends who you are, surely. I'd undoubtedly be better off getting up a bit earlier and doing it then, night owls would disagree.
