Every time I read one of these treads it makes me retch. I used to be a member of a gym round the corner and the changing rooms always stank to high heaven. I could never understand how other people could stink so much. Now I know.

FFS.......
There is a bloke in my gym (luckily only one this bad i've seen) who exercises then showers then put the same gear back on to leave.
Sweaty t-shirt, shorts, socks. vomit

HE uses the same kit for a few days as well.

I have a terrible sense of smell so it's less of an issue for me but it makes me feel dirty just seeing it.

When I was a trainee, there was a partner who was a bit odd, very clever, but odd, foul-mouthed and a little smelly. He seemed to wear identical shirts every day. One Monday morning, he spilt a drop of coffee on up his cuff. It was still there the next day and through to Friday.
Reading that reminds me of a partner who used to be at our firm, but the timing is a bit out. Perhaps every firm has one. Just hope it isn't me one day. getmecoat

Good grief, some of the answers. You know that feeling you get when you start to realise that 50% of the people who post on here are from another time and place? well this is one of those times.

People are proud of showering only once a day? do they not have a life? do they not go to work?, do they not work out? do they not sweat when they workout? do they not have wives, girlfriends, partners? People who live full lives need to shower more than once a day surely? come on, help me out here I am genuinely baffled.
Do I need a whoosh or is this guy serious?

Once a day is plenty.

I'm with 272 here. Underwear at least daily, twice if I've been to the gym.
Shower at least twice, morning and when I get home from work plus after the gym if I've been.

We don't all need to go to the gym.

Your skin must be fked if you're showering twice a day. No wonder our society is made up of moisturising, make-up wearing ponces. Should've known you were pansies when the gym talk came out.

There's no pride and no shame in it. I do go to work but it's a very sedentary job. I don't work out so that doesn't encourage sweat.
I don't have a wife, girlfriend or partner but at times when I have I haven't altered these habits and I've never had a complaint.
I consider my life to be full although I doubt you do. In the same way that I would consider my life boring if I was one of those people who takes pride in talking about their gym habits.

I just like feeling clean.

Clean underwear & socks is part of that and is quite a nice thing.

Wake up in a morning, I've ben sweating and rolling around all night. I love having a nice hot shower first thing. Helps me wake up too.

Clean socks & pants.

Go to work - nothing strenuous, steady office job, but it's a clean shirt for it.

Back home in the evening, either a bath or another shower, again helps to unwind and it's just nice to feel clean.

Don't bother with socks or underwear for the evening though.

My skin is in perfect working order thanks and I think belies my age. It does this because the best thing for skin is to sweat and exhert and to be exposed to all those wonderful anti-aging hormones that flood through your system when you are exercising. I do not use moisturisers, or any products at all and never have done - soap and water that's it.

And surely people who don't exercise/compete are more worthy of the pansie insult?

Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.

How does Theodore Roosevelt come into the picture? He from an age where they'd have a bath twice a year...

Really don't care how often people wash as long as they don't smell.

For me fresh shirt and underwear every day. I would feel dirty all day if I didn't have a bath so one of those or two if I've been to the gym.

I am trying to make the point that if you work hard, play hard and exercise hard then you are going to sweat and sweat heavily. You will need to wash after each of these occasions or you are going to smell and fester.

Those timid souls who do none of the above, are of course excused smile

Generally daily for socks and chuddies.

Although if I'm meeting a laydee in the evening I've been known to treat her to a freshly laundered pair.
