So politics is the only topic that should ever be discussed?
I am surprised it has been so popular on a car forum like PH considering there is no women even wearing said dress and the fact it made the BBC1 and C4 main news this evening a little odd imo. But carry on don't want to interrupt such an in-depth discussion.
Pretty odd to comment in the first place if this doesn't interest you.

My interest was more about how such an article , as pointless as it is, has managed to receive such international acclaim and recognition via social media and news it has overtaken such incidents currently occurring in Syria and Ukraine, absent from our major new channels this evening.

But by all means carry on. Sorry for interrupting.

Just noticed none other than Kim Kardashian has tweeted about the dress. I am truly sorry PH please accept my unreserved apology. Gold and white! Gold and white!

Blue and black, but not a strong black, so has a hint of dark brown about it. Never, ever going to see white or gold.

Quoted for later amusement.

I've had blue and black, then white and gold (ish), now blue and black again. Time of day or tiredness, methinks.

Then you are a complete muppet.

The point of this whole thing is not that it a dress, but the colours used can be seen differently by different people.

It's pretty obvious, but does appear to say a lot about you.

I think it is a bit like this optical illusion

What optical illusion?
That the squares A and B are the same colour grey even though they look different shades.
Not that I didn't believe you.. but had to put that into GIMP and cut out each square and compare side-by-side : )

Thats a bit freaky, the mind is a strange thing, no mater how many times I up and down the brightness, squint, rub eyes etc its still white & gold. The above GIF though just goes to show how it came about.

In life believe nothing your eyes tell you smile

Seems to only comment on threads about terrorism, Muslims, immigration - also says a lot.

I've not read this thread tbh and only heard about it (the dress) because it (the dress) made it onto PM on R4 on Friday night which shows what a slow news day it was.

To be honest given all the sh*t going on in the world at the moment, how is this important?

wgaf What colour it is?

Some people need to get out more!

Its not, its not even mildly important. It will be a sad day though when only misery, destruction and death are worthy of our attention or news slots. It's a bit of fun than lifts the masses out of the everyday humdrum, harmless and interesting

Personally I think the kind of person who goes out of their way to post on a thread on an internet forum about something they have no interest in, and to point out how morally superior they are for having no interest in it, should get out more too. wink

I've found the whole concept of colour perception, and how what we see is relative rather than absolute, quite fascinating. If nothing else it has exposed quite a few people to a bit of education and made them think about whether what they see is real or not.

White and gold.

Any other answer means you are colour blind or are drunk.

What a load of fuss about nothing.

I disagree. The actual dress is made from black and blue fabric. Its been black and blue in every fking picture I seen of it. The maker of the dress says it black and blue.

Ergo, logic would point to the fact its black and fking blue, unless anyone can point to any evidence I can verify with my own eyes to the contrary.

Agreed, my kids have been looking up why we see diferent things. My 13 year old daughter was explaining rods and cones to my wife last night!
