Taking things out of context isn't trolling, trolling has a distinct meaning. Taking things out of context can just be misunderstanding.

I've said what trolling is, but the media have infected the majority with their new version.

Intentionally taking words out of context. You are one of two or three people prone to doing that, in my opinion.

So what have 'the media' put the label on? Bullying on Facebook maybe or being downright rude about someone on Twitter?

I have never intentionally taken anything you've said out of context, for what it's worth. I don't want to get into it again but you said something and I just wanted to know what you meant by it, perhaps with examples - I presumed what you alluded to happened on that thread but I couldn't see any. Although some atheists do troll, I'm not one of them, I can't be bothered with that.

Yes, bullying, being a tt, that's not trolling, that's being a bully or a dhead. Trolling has a distinct meaning that's been twisted over the past, what, couple of years?

Yep, I recall someone being called a "Vile Troll" when they were, in fact, just acting as you describe.

Trolling is doing something to elicit a reaction.

The Ferrari teen is a prime example. The t shirt with the mustang logo, parking in a disabled spot, swapping the Ferrari/Lamborghini story around, a lod of subtle things to get people to start spitting vitriol until they realise they have been played for a fool.

Arguing is not trolling, but carrying on an argument after you realise you were wrong just to wind someone up is.

If it goes below 9 degrees then the rubber your tyres are made of hardens and goes kind of 'plastic'. So they are needed.
Then they really should be called 'British winter/autumn/spring especially at night tyres'.

They should in fact be regular tyres and people should have a special summer set.

Nonsense. It takes about 5 seconds to realise it's a parody. No intention to wind up, purely to amuse.

shout No they are not smash Currently minus 26c which is the norm , no winter tires fitted to any of our vehicles , you're being sold a dummy .
De-railing or trolling ?

Watched Top Gear , the Canadian Rescue earlier (very amusing) , no way did those trucks have winter tires on but they performed more than adequately considering the driver abuse .

But they'd perform better if they had winter tyres. Fact.

rxtx is correct.
Unfortunately the media will win and trolling will change to mean "personally attacking".
It's from a fishing term, where you drag bait along the bottom, waiting for bites.

Yes they did - If you look at the section where they were commenting on the size of the spare in the rear of one of the trucks, it was a studded winter tyre..
