Was this 'Pole' from the same place as the many 'Poles' that cracked the Enigma cypher before the outbreak of war, & the same place as many that joined us in the war effort during the war? Show some bloody respect, if the man wants a fancy drink give him a fking fancy drink.

PS, your daughter sounds 'delightful'.

I wonder if those Poles turned up for work and asked to borrow a crypto pad and an assault rifle?

Sounds like the daughter needs a man in her life.
A man with a screwdriver.

There's this Polish lad I could set her up on a date with.

What has the collectors nationality got to do with it?
The collector's nationality has quite a lot to do with it. If you're dealing with someone from a foreign country whose English may not be 100% fluent then it makes communication between the two parties significantly more difficult. I live in London and get first hand experience of this daily.
Did the OP say that it was difficult to communicate with the Polish bloke?

I didn't read that. I read that it was just the mere fact that he was Polish which the OP had issue with.

Similarly, it doesn't say the other fella required the daughter to use sign language or anything. The OP just seemed to object to JL having the temerity to employ / send someone with a physical impairment.

I was thinking about this thread today. I'm wondering if it's a wind up. I struggle to believe that anyone could be so obnoxious.

Must admit I read it with a bit of a building sense of "WTF is this for real?" the more I read.

This actually makes sense. (Not the nationality bit mind)

We have some contractors come to where I work recently, to fix the building AC. They are obviously charging my employer for this to be done. But for some inexplicable reason they don't bring the right tools for the job and expect to be able to borrow tools from myself or my colleagues or even the company.

Many years ago, another company I worked for had a builder that turned up on a bike every time. Same story, virtually no tools.

Too much to ask for them to have the right equipment?
