Sounds like you had good company.
I love meeting people when travelling or on holiday. If travelling, people regard their meetings as innocuous, as they don't think that they'll ever met you again. As a result, they don't mind what they tell you.
When you're away on holiday, by the pool or on the beach, defences are down, folks are relaxed and the sense of freedom prevails. Again, you get told stuff that their close friends back home don't know!
What people tell you within 10 minutes of meeting is incredible, when you are in the pool or the sea!!!

Woman on my left was the Queen and bloke on my right was Napoleon.

Funny how these things pan out.
