Woolworths.

Used to enjoy going in there for sweets and nick nacks.

What else do people miss or wonder what happened to them.

Another is those salons that used fish to nibble your feet. What happened to them?
Car tax disc holders, I suppose they'll be gone soon.
Cigarette machines in pubs, even though i don't smoke, i miss them.

Paying their mortgage with charitable donations and using their massive PR machine to crush anyone who dares write anything remotely negative about them?

Derailed on Post #2!

I miss:
Parking spaces being bigger than cars
Football being a proper sport (no leg clutching wussy diving nonsense)
Lose policing of French roads
Being able to leave work at 4pm

Cars being so mechanically simple that it was possible to do a whole rang of repairs and upgrades DIY.

The manual choke knob on a car. Not seen one of those for years.

My old and now long gone Alfa Romeo bought before buying a car became all about Isofix, having 7 seats and being vomit proof.

Lie ins on the weekend.

Pert firm boobs ( both hers and mine ).

I was about to ask him if he had kids. I think the old rose coloured glasses go on, to be fair I can only remember childhood being happy, but I know that most of it was far from happy. I think the brain edits out the bad bits.

Ah take it from me from the battle scarred trenches of parenthood, children are often far from carefree or happy.

Absolutely. The ability to spend one's own money and make one's own decisions far outweighs the perceived lack of responsibility of childhood.
