I buy cheap safety sunglasses from our local builders' merchant. I've found nothing better for driving, mountain biking etc and at £3.99 a pair I can afford to loose or sit on a few pairs a year. I honestly can't see why anyone would buy Oakley etc

I bought a pair of Sungods.

I figured £35 for a pair of polarised sunglasses was pretty good going plus you can customise them.

This thread has now caused me to make an impulse purchase
I have ordered some of those polarised Sungods, so will let you know what I think when they arrive! I have gone for the 'Classics' design with an all Frosted Grey frame and Blue mirror lenses.
They may be crap or they may be good, but for £35 I'll soon find out in about 2 days and tell you what I think.
In the meantime... I'm still looking at buying some Oakleys from that discount shop link
I had a look at the Maui Jim's, and whilst they do look very good, they are verging on twice what I paid for Oakleys for the ones I would buy so I've put the Maui Jim idea on hold for the moment...

I really like the look of them, what are they like in real life?
I bought the classics just as a spare pair but I think they're alright. The frames have a bit of flex to them and the lenses aren't as good as my Ray Bans but for £35 they're good.
Ordered and paid online this Monday and got the screen saying 'order accepted' etc, yet haven't yet received an email confirming my order/payment so sent an email yesterday morning to their customer service saying I hadn't had confirmation of my order or payment yet.
Still haven't had a reply.

I shall stick up for Oakleys - I live in Dubai and we have 360 days of sunshine a year. High quality glasses are a must. I'm yet to find better. They seem to last a long time and the current set I have must be at least three years old and are still like new pretty much. They get bashed about lots as they're worn so often.http://www.jewson.co.uk/tools-fixings-ironmongery/...
I'm sure there are viable alternatives but I've been wearing Oakleys for many, many years and never been disappointed. I'd not want to try another brand, spend a fair bit of dosh and find they're not up to the mark. I can't fault their back up service either.
Also, my Skiing goggles are also Oakleys and they've been superb for years as well.
Just a personal experience.
