I'm not even allowed to wear my own tartan at my best mates wedding, the very classic St Andrews blue. If the bride or bride's family don't kill you I'll be amazed. At the very least a wallop from some old dear who doesn't see the funny side.

Good luck...

Don't worry still here, though think I might have broken the forum.

The camera may have been set to vivid as it isn't quite so bright in person wink waist coat not adjusted so it will fit better and stitches still to come out of the kilt etc. sleeves will shorten a bit with wear and if I stand straight but need the width for my powerfully built arms and I can tie a much better knot though a bit out of practice.

Congratulations to the 13 so far with great taste.

I also have a Savile Row bespoke suit in yellow/gold with blue button hole stitches and a blue silk lining which I might take (the white suit might be a bit much, only allowed to wear that one on holiday). biggrin

I must say that I do admire your resilience on this thread!

I really must take you to task though on the fit! It just doesn't.... The sleeves need to ride up quite a bit in wearing to be remotely correct. Everything just looks sooooo wrong!

I know these things come down to taste primarily and thank God we are not all the same or life would be incredibly boring! But come on.... really??? smile

If you want to see what I mean about taste - have a look at the 'new shoes thread' and there are some proper 'disagreements' over on there beer

Sounds less pretentious than room for my Pam 785 though might have to take it off the custom blue frog skin strap, even I have taste limits biggrin

Most of this lot are the reason there are so many monochrome cars on the road. I’ve had yellow, bright blue, green and lots of reds including a couple with red interiors. biggrin

It's not that so much, but it's a consideration for fact that the bride especially might not appreciate you turning up dressed like a leaky tampon from the Crayola factory. Colour and all that has a place, but jesus man, have you at least checked the bridesmades aren't in some clashing colour smile

With a fine specimen like that, a decent tailor will allow for it with one shirt cuff and jacket cuff slightly larger; and if anything, the jacket maybe slightly shorter on that side but not as you would notice or it looks wrong - subtlety!!!

beer

ps - Like the sound of red interior!!!

Why though? Why would you want to draw attention to yourself on someone else's wedding day?

If you wear that get-up I suspect you mightn't be seeing your friend and his new wife for some considerable time.

You think wrong, but that's an aside, it's a wedding day - it's not your job to think or offer opinions, it's your job to stay relatively sober and shake peoples hands.

Exactly, unless the bride and groom are okay with this disgusting attire you are not going to be received well at all.

I see where you got the inspiration.

Is the groom coming like this?

OP - I like to wear a bit of colour myself but that is effing awful. Sorry.....

You might get away with it if you remove the extraneous details and get a better cut on the jacket. And sort out the sleeve length and learn how to tie a tie properly.

What sort of shoes do you have in mind?

Do you really think anyone will notice his shoes? (unless he's borrowed Ronald McDonald's)

OP - if the bride and groom have not seen and OK'd your outfit, then please reconsider or at least go prepared with an alternative.
