This chart is 8 days away - still an unreliable time-frame, but getting close...

About as likely as all those snow charts!

Fed up of all this claggy NW cloud now.

Please can we have a Spanish Plume with a cold front bashing into it, so we can have some storms? Please?

I think that's going to become more likely over the coming weeks. There is little doubt that France/Spain are going to be seriously heating up and the charts are showing multiple low pressure systems impacting northern UK. 2 ingredients to make thunder!

You want a plume? Have a plume! Courtesy of ECM:

No bones about it, these charts are stunning and I doubt anything like this has ever happened - so the temperatures are likely to be watered down. However, the odds are looking good of some hot weather soon. Is that the first time I've used the word 'hot' this year?

What do we think Friday is looking like at the Festival of Speed. Some places think it will be lovely and sunny and others think Rain!

April showers I think is the easiest way to describe Friday. Long sunny spells, but showers are a real risk.

Ex-tropical storm in the Mid-Atlantic making itself felt by flinging an arm of precipitation our way. Shouldn't be too windy though.

Who's got next week off then?

I'm calling a heatwave! <whoooooop>

(not 100% certain, the value of your thermometer and rain gauge can go down as well as up)

Watered down?! It's currently forecasting -4C or so for me! So does watered down mean they will get colder or warmer? wink

Had been thinking mid twenties in the UK was a bit strange to say "never having happened before"! However it's very disappointing, have new ski bindings arriving next week so would have been good to test them out! That said, there still is snow around these days anyway, smile

Looks like a couple of thundery break-downs during the heatwave, courtesy of the low pressure in the Atlantic that's assisting by pushing the warm air north.

30oC looks odds on next week, with a fairly good chance of 35oC.

Still a slim chance of this all going away and just left with low 20s - but the chance is reducing all the time and there is cross-model agreement on this plume.

I shall be officially starting my gardening leave on Tuesday afternoon. We then fly to Croatia for 2 weeks of holiday on Saturday before starting my new role on 20th.

I think I may have timed this one perfectly... woohoo

This chart is for ground level temperatures. I think it might be taking things a bit too far... wink

Raining.

Middle-aged, middle-class pseudo-crusties bring rain with them to otherwise sunny Somerset. Again.

It's at this point with the snow reports that we start getting downgrades...

Guess what?
