Some thunder storms heading from Brittany towards the Channel Islands. If they build up they're looking likely for the M3 corridor...

You know it's hot and humid when you get out of your aircon-equipped car and your glasses steam up.

Disappointing here too - some very bright flashes, but a way off. Short, sharp burst of rain at 10pm helped cool down anyway!

Tonight/tomorrow morning is the best time for storms - there's actually a yellow warning for large areas of northern England, especially the NE.

I was working at Heathrow last night but fortunately our new temporary accommodation seems to have aircon smile on the way home via the M25, the warmest temp was 26c and that was at just gone 7!

All I have to do now is somehow sleep today so I can go back in tonight! frown

Well, the last skiing trip of the season has been cancelled after I screwed my ankle yesterday so no pics! The benefits of a northern European summer!

Shirley, as it's past midsummer, you've missed the first trip of the new season?

Could be argued that way too! I was looking at it from "not having packed the skis away for summer" angle. Last year the first new snow around sea level was around mid-September - so not too long potentially.

Already 33C at Heathrow, UK July record is 36.5C (2006 Wisley) according to Met.

There's a pretty stiff breeze 30 miles west of LHR, so although I want to say yes - I think it will miss.

27.8 in my back garden.

ETA - Met Office has revised their London forecast to 36, so maybe.... That would be the hottest Wimbledon day ever.

33 in Henley at the moment. Although it's now clouded over so feels different.

Looks like temps are backing off at the moment but may surge again late afternoon/evening.

sweating my ball sack off here, living in a modern apartment with lots of glass windows has serious downsides!
