It's cold and ABSOLUTELY pissing down.

Worst summer for ages and have just put another log on the burner.

I don't know how to do emoticons on here but i'd like to do the grumpy with a bit of jealousy one.

Just spoken to my lad Manchester, apparently he's had to put on 'long' trousers, whatever they are.

Been in France the last two weeks, has it not been nice here? tongue out It hit 32 on the way back to Cherbourg yesterday, which wasn't great.

It's been quite warm here in West Yorks, positively tropical last night and this morning; windy, cloudy and warm at the moment.

I've read about these flying ant days now and again, but never witnessed one 'til yesterday in Leeds, there were swarms of them in the Town centre which spoiled the day a bit as it was hot and sunny. In my hair, down my back, swimming in my drink, 'kin things were everywhere.

They appeared for the first time yesterday in central London, not too many this time, but I guess it was an exploratory escapade, and they're gathering en masse somewhere, preparing their final assault!

Some hopeful signs for a visit from the Azores High starting on Saturday. England and Wales would benefit...

Fingers crossed... Dull, a bit of rain and a wind which is just making slack mast lines ting rather than a more boisterous howl around the rigging (for a change) here at Port Solent.

Weather doesn't matter a jot to me right now, I am on my second all nighter on a tender response frown.

As long as Saturday is dry don't care about the rest track day at llandow.

Just a thought the last few years have either seen hot summers/ wet summers/cold snowy winters/ wet mild winters etc this year has been pretty quiet on the weather. No real storms to talk about, last winter wasn't that cold nor wet neither.
So we may be moaning about the lack of heat and sun its been a pretty ok year so far.

Proper toasty in France at the moment - drove up the Tarn Gorges yesterday - clear blue skies, much as it has been for the past two weeks, and 33 degrees. Today, we hit a pretty genuine 37 degrees (up through the spine of France).

Continuing to keep an eye on next week's developments. There will be definitely be some kind of warm up, which will definitely favour the South. It's a question of how long for, and how hot now.
