Lovely conditions here - absolutely perfect. But no celestial fireworks of either type yet...

Just spent the last hour sat outside and saw a good dozen or so meteors. Turned out to be a lovely evening here in Cheshire, topping off a rather lovely day...

Amazing fireball just after 10pm, lit up the garden!

Main rain has now crossed the south coast. The really heavy stuff is in Sussex, but pretty heavy rain from Bournemouth eastwards.

I'm actually thinking independence would have been a good idea, based purely on the fact that I'd have been able to avoid watching the weather forecast for the south east.hehe

Every day staring at 13 and rain, with 25 and sunny in London turns you from a better together supporter into shouting English bds!! at the TV. biggrin

I'm in East Sussex and it's torrential rain with some seriously big claps of thunder!

I'm in North Hampshire and it's warm, grey, drizzly and grim frown

Having just booked our skiing holiday for 26th December, it's probably quite good preparation for what the weather will be like up the mountain

Still grey and drizzly but even warmer and, looking on RainToday, there is a f'in great lump pivoting counter-clockwise over the South that should be on me in about 30 minutes, ready to dump a lot of rain.

I'm off to waterproof the chickens...

Once again - we are told to expect some proper weather, and all we get is a bit of drizzle and some rain.
Last nights apparently 'spectacular' meteor shower...one or two streaks in a 25 minute period.

Rubbish.

The curve of rain, lying north of the low pressure, split in two. We were relatively in the middle. The warnings were all about the possibility, not the fact, that there would be heavy rain. Sussex and Kent got wallopped.

Not even all of that. We got about 1cm in total, and a few half-hearted rumbles.
