Once again - we are told to expect some proper weather, and all we get is a bit of drizzle and some rain.
Last nights apparently 'spectacular' meteor shower...one or two streaks in a 25 minute period.
Rubbish.
The curve of rain, lying north of the low pressure, split in two. We were relatively in the middle. The warnings were all about the possibility, not the fact, that there would be heavy rain. Sussex and Kent got wallopped. Last nights apparently 'spectacular' meteor shower...one or two streaks in a 25 minute period.
Rubbish.

Had a nice look of autumn on my drive across the country roads to Cambridge, mist over the fields, grey clouds, it was very nice. Unfortunately it was just missing that sharp little hint of cold that tells you that winter is on the way.
I'll have my time again, soon, very soon.
Winter is coming
(But in the mean time winter can sod off this weekend as I've going to Norfolk for a friend's hen do and we've got to cycle to a nice place for a posh afternoon tea, can't do that if it's peeing down).

I'm off to Suffolk with Mrs B for the weekend. The weather's set fair. Especially Sunday. I'll have my time again, soon, very soon.

Pleasant enough here in West Berks, but certainly not summer. This is really amplified by my walk with the mutt in the forest. The blackberries are ripe, there are hazelnuts and acorns on the ground. Leaves are falling, the ground is moist.
Feels like autumn...
El Nino events are often linked to cold winters - and the natural world seems to be warning too. No science here, but feels like a real winter is coming

My corner of Hertfordshire has lots of green blackberries on the bushes, but not many ripe ones at the moment, I think it needs a few more properly warm days to get them purple.Feels like autumn...

Drove back from work this evening and noticed that many, many more of the horse chestnut trees round my way now have leaves heavily edged with brown.
I'm still not quite getting that autumn chill yet, but I can see that it could certainly arrive earlier than normal.

Sea temps haven't got anywhere near as high as normal. Our hot water bottle is not fully charged...
That didn't stop a whole troop of kids from gambolling about in the sea just by Southwold pier this past weekend.I have no idea how they could bear it. But, they did and their shrieks of enjoyment were a joy to behold.
Glorious day here in the Island, gentle westerly, temperature topped out at about 20 making for just about a perfect day. Pic below was taken at the end of my evening bike ride. However, as is fairly typical of this August, tomorrow it all goes tits up, with a full day of rain and strong winds. Thurs and Fri don't look that much better with a humid damp airflow being a dominant feature. Seriously, what the fk is wrong with our kunting weather!! Oh, and this is the chart for Sunday and Monday. Enjoy.

So what's the weekend looking like for the bournemouth airshow?
Complicated Warm air drawn up from the continent on Saturday, will be quite toasty compared to recently. Sunday see it all break down - increased potential for thunder. Heavy showers v likely.
