Gin clear day today in the Islands, 18 degrees and a light northerly. Still warm enough to have a dip in the pool and tea outside. smile

That's excellent news, I've had a few more tomatoes ripen today, and more sunshine through the next week might just mean I end up with a reasonable crop.

Who knows - but El Nino can have a strong effect on the weather.

Enjoy the warmth this week - the weekend sees a slide in to autumn gales...

Glorious here today, lovely sunrise over French France and the lesser Islands. 18 degrees and no wind. Even had time for a cheeky Monday afternoon barbecue. Make the most of it people, the weekend and next week looks proper bilge.

If you think the El Nino can have an effect, the unprecedented 'blob' is going to rip us a new orifice at some point!

Forecasting this winter is a mug's game, the global ocean temperatures have never been all over the shop like they are at the moment.

Let's get the bad news out of the way. This week's more pleasant weather gives way to something unsettled for a few days. An ex-tropical cyclone is likely to pay us a visit in to the mix around Tuesday...

This could be doing us a favour though. Long range indications are that things could warm up again after...

Ahhhh..... September. Probably my favourite month of the year. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and just the hint of a chill in the air first thing in the morning. Love it!
