Ahhhh..... September. Probably my favourite month of the year. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and just the hint of a chill in the air first thing in the morning. Love it!

Next week's weather system has a name wink

It's Henri, by the way

Still not time for the snow thread? Not even with a little baiting from Nathan Rao?

I'm not ready to give up yet, it was glorious on Saturday (sea kayaking, so factor 50...), BBQ leg of lamb and another good day on Sunday, although the wind picked up earlier than expected so we had a bit of an epic. hehe

2 low pressure systems today/tonight/tomorrow and then Henri on Weds.

Ridge of high pressure at the weekend - temporarily quite nice smile

Thunder and rain in Leicester. Up to 12 tomatoes ripe now, still at least a hundred that I'd like to see ripe but hope is starting to fade.

It's gorgeous in Leicester, and should have the first ripe beef tomatoes with dinner this evening. Another couple of weeks without frost and the total crop won't be too bad, just late.

How many tomatos summer are we up to now? And how does it compare to previous?

You need a greenhouse. Glut no. 2...

A greenhouse would be good, but would mean losing the little shed, moving the big shed to where the little shed is and putting a greenhouse in it's stead. I'm probably up to about 20 ripe tomatoes with another half dozen that will be picked this evening. Far fewer, and perhaps a month later than in previous years.

The carrots this year have been great, have eaten them almost every day for the last three months and still have enough for the next six months.

My pears have never been better, eating 2 or 3 a day, you haven't lived until you've experienced a perfectly ripe Williams, tastes nothing like the shop ones, texture of a smooth soft cheese, sweet and dripping with juice and musky as hell nom nom nom nom nom.
