Personally I think the availability of porn and the good quality have had a dentrimental affect on people's sex lives and perceptions of what is totally normal.

One extreme is the desensitisation of "abnormal" sex acts, two girls one cup, one guy one jar etc which then become normal and fail to get us aroused or repulsed.

Young teens now growing up thinking that porn movies are normal and guys are studs and woman always go crazy (yes. Normal for me. Right?) is the way it is.

I prefer the days of porno mags in bushes. Oh the innocence.
Now there's one for the Demond thread, but yes I was wondering who would be the first to mention it (I just couldn't be bothered!) I wonder if (you have been affected by it) that after abstaining from Porn for some time you begin to have more realistic intentions.

That's an interesting point...I was chatting with a younger lady recently (I'm 47) and she was relating that she and a few of her friends are totally put off by guys their own age approach to sex.

Seems a lot of this has come from internet porn and expectations are ridiculous in terms of what girls are supposed to do.
But on the other hand look at the amount of amateur/home made stuff online. Most of the participants are pretty butters but hey ho

Ha ha! Too young for me, just a friend of a friend.

She did give me a lot of detail though - I kind of felt sorry for her, her mates and the blokes as well.

For the really interesting stuff you want to stray off the path of the 'big few' indexers and explore some of the lesser travelled areas of the tinterwebs.

You want something that doesnt appear on any search engines, offers at least SSL encryption, and has randomised URLs with no page headers. Of course I have no idea where this kind of thing might exist...

As a child of the internet, you find that most standard forms of tittilation lose their luster very quickly.

I think you have to actually try to see anything properly illegal. You won't come across it by accident.
I used to say that. Until a few weeks ago, when an 'invitaion' popped up in a window inviting me to view things that looked a bit dodgy. So I zapped it. It had got past my virus checker and firewall, and didn't show up on my internet website history list. I had my usual quota of websites open, PH, Ebay, BBC news, YouTube, nothing new there. I was actually using Excel at the time. And before anyone comments, like the OP, I've gawped at porn in my life time, from the days behind the bikeshed at school looking at magazines, to the internet in the early days, so I've probably seen most things. The real reason I don't surf the net these days for it, is because of the dodgy organistions that are behind this stuff, using it as a means of planting nasty spying sofware on your computer, and stealing i.d's and stuff.

That sounds like a quick route to dissatisfaction with real sex and an entry on the sex offenders' register.

These days that appears to be the case thankfully. When I was first using the internet the amount of child-porn that came up was shocking. Just in adverts and banners while downloading (admittedly illegal) games and serial numbers. I can't remember the last time I saw anything like that.

Apart from when using TOR. A few clicks in the wrong place on a .onion site and it reminds me of the 'old' internet and not in a good way. I started to use TOR really just as a protest about my data being spread around, but I don't bother anymore.

With regards to the expectations of young people and sex, I agree with some of the posters above. I would say that 'normal' porn has somewhat twisted what people think should happen between two or probably three of four (!) people. I also crave a little bit of innocence to return and the thrill of finding a used magazine in the bushes when I was thirteen smile

I'm pretty sure that there's a fair bit of stuff that is very easily viewable on say Xhamster could be classed as "extreme" these days.
From what I remember reading when the law was introduced, ‘extreme’ refers to someone coming to harm. So if you enjoy watching women (or men…) get roughed up, then a) you’re sick and b) you’re potentially breaking the law.

I would have thought that there is a risk of seeing something illegal on any site where user content is uploaded and not vetted - I'm not sure how the law treats intent in that situation, although when you hear of somebody being prosecuted for this kind of thing they've usually got an extensive collection or they've been paying to access a site which deliberately hosts illegal material.

As a woman, who has a look now and again wink I can say that over the last few years there has definitely been a shift in the whole porn industry.

The biggest change I have seen is in amateur porn... which seems to be the new wave of what is popular.

The industry has served us all sorts of crazy stuff, from fetish to machines and all wonders in between, in a search for the weird and wonderful. Of course there will always be the market for the fetish type people of the world, but most people doing a quick google, just want boobs, bums and some good action.

There is a new sweep of amateur 'style' porn where it's back to basics and less of the blonde bimbo in heels with 5 guys and a bukkake fest (yes I said it!!) and more girl next door baking cakes, gets banged by the postman.

Sadly I think this is maybe the slow decline of the industry and a way to wind people back and try and close the gates. That or people have just got fed up of porn trying to push the boundaries, people have realised that watching good sex, can just be simple.

"making an image" is the offence - i.e. causing it to appear or be stored in any form (this has been decided by the courts).(there's a couple of other less common options for charging in the Sexual Offences Act under the definition of pornography, and the Communications Act about transmission of obscene material).

The only possible defence is if you immediately delete it and report it.

You're right that most of the prosecution in the past dealt with collectors and distributors, but there's a new wave coming through, thanks partly to mobile devices, with activities being streamed live and stored in the cloud so there's less sign of collecting on the devices themselves.

Interesting point - the whole market has changed from top shelf magazines and "specialist" shops selling videos / DVDs to paysites and now pretty much where we are with the "tube" sites. Unless you're into something really niche (or illegal) I'd say it's a pretty safe bet you can find what you want for free. Maybe this is why we are seeing more "amateur" stuff - production values must be very low indeed.

In the 90s, I knew a couple of people who had "paid for" memberships of sites (1 male, 1 female interestingly enough), but does anyone actually pay for porn anymore and are there still actually paysites? (I'm not talking the illegal stuff - just the normal* ATM / DP etc.)

I think there by lies the issue, there is no need to pay any more.

I can find some pretty decent stuff on Tumblr! Al be it short clips, but there is some good variation, and artistic stuff to be found!

With the increase in the ability to shoot and upload small budget videos at home in HD, the money is no longer there.

I remember the days of looking forward to the new Vivid productions, and i'll be honest, that was a fair few years ago. Since to be replaced with lots of everything else.

Thank you xbox media centre and apple TV! biggrin

XNXX does it for me, less messing about than Xhamster. Got a good forum too.
They're not interested when I question FWD v RWD or the handling characteristics of an MX5 though...
