A couple of things happened recently, which I had no real answer for, and didn't really know how to handle...regarding things I did years ago. This might be a bit of a cool starry bra! But would be fun to hear from other posters if they've had something similar...

As I am sure we all have done, over the last few years I have re-connected with people from years ago via Facebook. One chap I recently connected to, whom I was friends with from the age of about 8 until I was 16 when he moved away, is now an electrician with his own business. We're both in our 40's now. Anyway, I copped an electrical fault at home a while ago, so I immediately thought of my old friend, and asked him over to do the work.

He turned up, did the work, and we had some banter about old times. He then suddenly turned to me, smiled, and pointed to a chip in one of his front teeth - the bottom corner is missing - and said 'remember this?' I had no idea what he was on about, until he reminded me of the time when we were both about 10, were being idiots throwing stones at each other, when one of my stones hit his tooth and broke it. The damage is still there, 30 years later....I really didn't know what to say! yikes It was pretty embarrassing really, and the atmosphere was a bit awkward until he left.

Then I happened to bump into another old mate last year, who at the time was walking on crutches. After a few minutes of saying hello and pleasantries, I asked him 'how come you're on crutches mate, what happened?' He said he had just come out of hospital, following an operation on his foot. I pushed it further, almost taking the piss and asking 'why, what happened? Haha you cripple, etc!...'

Imagine my discomfort when he finally said 'remember when I was on the back of your motorbike, in the mid 1990's, and you pulled a wheelie and I fell off the back? Well, turns out my foot was really badly damaged, and I have been suffering with it ever since - and now I have had to have an operation!'

Obviously I wanted the ground to swallow me up...

Anyone else?! biggrin

I look back and wince when I think of some of my old stunts. My brother and I were down throwing rocks in a river in the local woods, I picked up a big old rock and swung my hand back to throw it, smashing my brother right in he face with it and splitting his eyelid/eyebrow with it. We were quickly loaded on a bus to hospital, where luckily it turned out to be a superficial injury. Could have been a lot worse!

Thankfully, no. No you've never disfigured me.
