Also look at Gieves & Hawkes off-the-peg range - similar price to PS, maybe a little more but not much.

Very well made from excellent cloth and will last really well.

Not in my opinion, piss poor. And yet, their shirts wear well and fit me well.

Of course, this being PH I should be having bespoke shirts made from cotton money can't buy.
See I've never got on with their shirts- Charles Twyritt for me.

I'm actually impressed with Charles Tyrwhitt's 'high end' range, the £400 suits. And that's coming from having MTM, Duchamp, etc. Properly wide lapel and canvass inner.

Plus if you work nearby you get 15% corporate discount. The guy I go to on Chancery Lane is really brilliant.

Look out for the Hackett sale you can get a very nice suit for around the £300 mark.

I have a Ted Baker suit as a day-to-day office suit, and I can honestly say it has not stood up well and has worn badly.

I'm a bit embarrassed I ever bought it.
I've found the same, had 2 Ted Baker suits now, and neither has lasted longer than 12-18 months before being deemed fit for the bin. I won't be buying a third from them.
Agreed. Ill fitting, poor wearing pos.

I will never buy another TB item. Both pairs of shoes I've had looked good but fell apart after only wearing them a few times. Utter garbage.

Nah, stuff that - unless you are powerfully built of course! My work shirts came from TM Lewin - they are spot on, but seldom used now as I'm back in the workshop most of the time, I've even had them on under my overalls a few times and they've stood up to the abuse fine.

The TB stuff I've had has not lasted what I consider fair usage. Two suits and a sports bag all binned after a year or so.

Don't judge me but the hardest wearing suit I have is a cheapo one from BHS. I needed something there and then. It's not the greatest of materials but the cut suited me for an off the peg and it did it's job. Its taken a lot of abuse over the years and still looks pretty much the same as when I bought it.

i've had a couple and they're OK, but to be honest as there are places where you can go and get a suit made to measure for the same money, i tend to do that nowadays. Had 3 and they've all been great.

I love the Hackett suits, classic cut, never really fashionable just elegant, and so they can stay in the wardrobe for years.

My experience of Ted Baker is variable.

I have a TB suit which although looks nice and fit well (at least it used to before I got fat!) doesn't seem to be wearing well. I'd be reluctant to buy again. I'd say the majority of their shirts I've purchased have been decent however. Some are showing collar wear but to be fair those are around 10 years old now! Surprisingly my best use vs money TB item has been a brown belt.

Thanks for recommendation. I've a couple of their shirts and felt them very decent (albeit a touch on the slimmer fit side).

When they were still made in the UK they were top drawer

Not sure they are now - maybe it's sour grapes because.....

Cut tends to be slim (kind of mod influence) trousers are Jacket size minus six

I'm too much of a fatty now

Charles Tyrwhitt and Boss fit me now and can stand a lot of wear

My TB experience has been ok, had a few of their endurance range and they are ok.
I'll get them for 18mths and then bin them, I never pay full price (outlet) and they wear reasonably well for a cheapish suit.
