Do you work with the famous ?
Discussion
I have recently started working at a premier league football club. Day in day out a regularly talk and fraternize with the players. I had never talked to anyone famous before starting here. I'm shocked at how quickly you stop seeing them as the stars you see on TV and just normal people. I thought i would be star struck for longer but i find myself just talking to them like ordinary work pals(albeit earning 60x more than me a year) about last nights Game Of Thrones episode !
My GF works with a lot of actors who are well known in Germany. A couple are friends now and it was odd to see how our neighbours reacted when we had a bbq party last summer. I have never known them as 'so and so from this film or that series' so they have never been famous from my perspective.
Used to be in the music industry and met (and became mates with a few) loads. As you say, just normal but there is an element of trust to be earnt before they 'let go' and them knowing that you're a professional, going through the same thing and have no agenda as far as they're concerned is a massive help.
not me, but i have a couple of friends who work for f1, they are fairly senior and their offices are along from Bernie's.
they meet a lot of 'stars' and work alongside quite a few team management people due to the technical and logistical nature of their jobs.
they got vip passes for my son and a mate to go to the australian gp last season, my son and his friend rubbed shoulders and ate with some very famous names from hollywood, music etc.
me i gave my son a laptop, hardly the same

I worked in football for a number of years, and know exactly what you mean.I was going round an ex-England captains house, where current and ex-players were sat in the kitchen having a beer, going to the pub with them, all very down to earth.
The big thing that surprised me, was day to day life things, they had no idea, as everything had been done for them from a young age.
I was given a certain individuals charge card, and told to go get him a certain new car, as long as it had tinted windows and as many toys as possible, he was happy. That was cool.
Met a few of my heroes, and amazed at how open and friendly most of them were.
Certainly opened my eyes to the inside of football, and how privileged a lifestyle the inner circles lead.

Have you ever met Noel Gallagher? I've met Liam, he was really nice. My mate met Noel and was utterly disappointed, he was very very arrogant so he said.
I've worked for quite a few names, but I kinda live in a bubble/too cool/too out of touch and don't know any celebrities beyond the few immediately relevant to me.
eg, sat kinda zoned out late one night a short while back and TOTP2 comes on the telly, fine young cannibals number, I'm like "oh look it's Roland", Mrs Hairy is all like "WTF DO YOU MEAN OH IT'S ROLAND, THATS THE ROLAND YOU'VE BEEN WORKING FOR AND DIDN'T REALISE?"

I'm quite a lot like hairyben in that unless it's a massive headline name i don't know who most of them are unless i google them!
