Been clearing out a few bits and pieces that I had in the garage that were no longer needed.

1) People bid and win on something worth a couple of pounds that needs collecting then don't bother contacting you, some from the next village, some who obviously failed O level Geography and didn't realise that Yorkshire isn't just a couple of mile from London.

2) People who ask you to arrange a courier for something that you've said is collection only. You offer a price for that (I guessed £10) they agree, win the auction, you arrange and it's collected within 18 hours, the Courier costs in excess of £6, you've had to find a box, wrap it and arrange the courier, then they complain about the cost and suggest the cost should have been £2.89!

I use ebay quite a lot for BUYING things but selling just becoming a total pain.

ps I have a 100% feedback record and don't want to feel like I'm ripping anyone off.

Rant over, I'm off to bed.

I used to sell an awful lot of car parts on eBay, it paid fully for all my uni course, accommodation and live style

Sold something with a bit of plastic chipped off, included 12 clear pics, put the damage in the description and in the title

Some idiot won it and them complained it had damage to the plastic, eBay didn't care or even listen

I carried on until end of uni and stopped, which is a shame as it made good money

I now list things on eBay and point to my gumtree ad, pull the auction before it ends. Feel bad doing so but eBay sucks

I stopped selling years ago when too many people claimed they didn't recieve the goods and wanted a refund.

I recently relented an put a broken down car on there, 99p start and no reserve. It "sold" for £165 but the buyer didn't pay, and missed 4-5 appointments over a couple of weeks to collect with cash. In the end I just told them not to bother and I'll relist it.

Ebay don't give a st about sellers.

sold something last night and I had this message come through this morning........

"I need to cancel this purchase I'm afraid my daughter logged in intoxicated to eBay & has bid on several items that she won't be paying for nor will I (she's 13)

Really sorry for any inconvenience caused to yourself"

I no longer sell on eBay, you're finding out why...

Also the buyer can decide they want a refund for any reason within 6 months and you have to give it to them.

fk that for a game of soldiers.

Buyer bids for car, wins, never gets in contact. I open a dispute, still no contact. Close dispute and relist, and... despite the reminder for me to leave feedback , it doesn't give me the option to do so, so noone else gets warned that the person is an oxygen thief. How does that help anyone ebay?

Similar to mine.

Listed an old phone on Ebay, had a bit on interest, someone with no feedback messages me asking if i'll take a comically low amount for it (was listed at 150, wanted to pay 60) I told him to fk off and make a serious bid or stop wasting my time. He then bought it at the full price, and didn't pay. I opened a non payment case with ebay, took them 2 weeks to sort it out, during this time I had been charged for listing it, and they didn't care that it hadn't been sold. It wasn't until I told them I was refusing to pay it that they took any notice.

There are so many knobs on Ebay it's ridiculous.

I was pleased to discover that although the main site didn't let me leave feedback for the waster, this had been overlooked in the mobile app, so even though it limits you to positive feedback, I was able to give some warning.

My relisted auction with its collection only status has been 'won' and sure enough I get a message 'I should have mentioned this earlier but can you please deliver it to xxx'. No, what part of collection only do you not understand? I am not about to retax and reinsure it to save you 20 minutes on a bus.

Seriously weird this, I had the exact same message on a car I tried to sell a few years back. He sent loads of questions and negotiations etc. Bought it then sent me a message similar to the above?

fktards some people!

Well I have close to 500+ feedback as a seller over 6 ish years

Worst I've had is getting ripped off to the tune of £200 by a paypal chargeback for a PVR I sold. I couriered it, buyer claimed it never showed up. I learned the hard way unless you can prove the actual buyer received it (and no one else) you're stuffed.

To avoid this I tend to sell expensive stuff cash/local pickup only. Even though I plaster it in big letters everywhere, more often than not someone in London buys it! (I am up north 200+ miles away). But to be fair on two such sale occasions now the buyer has driven or jumped on a train and showed up as planned and paid cash!!!
