Watching a sitcom on TV earlier I saw a guy boasting about the features of his bachelor pad, and he had a toilet with a seat that lifts up when you stand up, there for the default position is up,

This means there will never never be pee on the seat and you simply have to lower the seat if required.

Shouldn't all toilets be like this, and does Anyone know where I can buy one in the UK?

I always put the seat down after a pee, I am well trained because I live in a house full of women and I am outnumbered.

I also put the lid down so they have to put some effort in as well.

I am amazed they are not an everyday option though.

Just piss in the sink. Save money not just on swish toilet seats, but also on water used for flushing.

I thought that in the 21 century, men sit down to pee?

Fair point, but this doesn't stop you from closing the lid to flush, it just means when you open the lid, the seat goes up with it.

I piss in the kettle.

I always thought women assumed we didn't lift the seat up to pee so I leave it up as if to say "See, I lifted it up to pee"

Any another thing. What's with the knitted toilet roll fairys!!!

It's bad feng shui to leave the lid open. I think that's because it can become a magnet for mobile phones.

Likewise I always close the lid-if the toilet is not left my immediate use, why should the fair sex be able to use the toilet immediately?

Indeed: most of the people I know who fret about the seat being up aren't fussing about having to lower it, they're concerned that it's been flushed with the lid up.
